I'll take whatever Bill doesn't. We could use some snow out west too.

Can I send you some of our snow?

Snow. Bleh.

Although, I have to admit, all this snow shoveling is giving me a good upper body workout.

That is the way winter is supposed to look in MN !!!

I got no points over the weekend.  We went sledding yesterday but I remember someone saying that doesn't count.  Of course we had to drive 80 miles and go up to 9000 ft to find snow.....

Commuted to work today but it was not as cold as they had called for.  Still scored some points off of a brutal wind.

Shooting for 7K on the bike in 2010.  Have to get a century in by Friday at Midnight.  I am going to ask the DW if I can do a Century on Friday - weather is supposed to be beautiful.  I will head down to ski country and check out the conditions.  Hopefully I get the go ahead!

You are a beast. Hope you get the go ahead.

Wow! Nice bike miles. I need 14 miles to get 1200 running miles for the year. My running miles just past my bike totals, that is sad.

7,000 miles on the bike is awesome! I'm rooting for you to do the century on Friday. One of my goals for 2010 was to get to 5k on the bike, which I'll miss by about 250, so maybe next year.

Send me all the snow you want.  We got a trace last night. Tons of wind and not much snow. I was all ready for a run in the snow... and then it started raining and melted the snow.

Wow. Jealous. A century would be fun. Well, having a functional bike would be fun. Still haven't decided on the replacement yet.

Hey everyone!

As December comes to a close the Crushers want to extend a January challenge invite to the BT community...

I know our challenge continues for a few more months but I thought some people might still be interested.

It was 32F this morning so I didn't get much for points, little bit of freezing rain. Brewer and I got in a 7 mile run, felt great!

I have been struck with a mid-winter thaw of sorts. Temps are in the mid 30's and clear, so unless I manage to get in a bike ride I haven't been able to score anything for points in the last two weeks. I got in a nice ride today, and an early morning run last week, but that is all.

I think the world has turned upside down.

*I* am supposed to live in Slackerville SOUTH.
*You* are supposed to be in Slackerville NORTH.

I think the poles must have reversed themselves or something 'cause there's STILL a TON of snow here!

Snow. Bleh.

OK... When I said this I meant you could send snow my way but not necessarily all the snow. Yesterday we didn't have any snow. Today I have over a foot of snow in my driveway. I guess I must live in the path of the worst of the storm because when I got to the office, we only had maybe two inches. I got some yak trax for Christmas and am planning on a nice long run in the snow.

It's currently 38 and raining, which is helping a lot with the overflow snow issues.  But worry not, the temps will fall tonight turning it all into a giant ice skating rink.  Oh joy.  Then we'll get more snow and cold, just in time for my long run this Saturday!

Took and extended commute home.  What takes 21 minutes in the summer took 30 today.
Couple of inches of snow and temps 15.
Almost pulled a "bill" on the horse trails.  I laid down the bike but walked/ or more likely stumbled out of it but stayed upright.

Now - do I have time for a run?

Just remember we are finally hitting "winter"

In Buffalo I counted any points before 12/1 as bonus and then never really relied upon December.  We should start hitting cold for the next 2 months and then come March it starts warming up so commuting is the only shot at points by then.

BTW - Snow is really needed in Western New York - supposed to be 45-50 on Saturday with Rain - boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Ha, Bill you make me laugh. I always wondered why this challenge was only 5 months and not 7. We get our share of crappy weather from October-April.

Sounds like the forcast here, I'm just north of New York. It's 7C today (45F) and tomorrow we might get a Jan 1st record breaking 10C (50F). I'm moving tomorrow and happily accept the high temperatures! Winter is scheduled to return on Sunday.

Not going to get any points for this morning's run since there is a veritable heat wave in the mitten state, but I did reach 1500 running miles for the year for the first time ever, and not one step was done on a treadmill. Running has become by far my favorite discipline and when I get sick of triathlons I think I'd like to give ultras a try.

Happy New Year everyone, and happy running!

Great job on the 1500 miles. I got out this morning and broke my 1200 miles. I like the idea of 1500 and am going to try for it in 2011.

Actually got a few points this morning, started out at 34F, finished at 30F.

Well, it is cold here in Iowa.  I ran in ice pellets this morning!  sorta' like hail, except smaller.  Fortunately, I wasn't running into the wind much on the route I took today.  Seemed like the wind picked up when the pellets were coming down the most.  It was 40 yesterday here.  I was curled up on my cozy couch, crocheting with my daughter(near a warm fire) when it started.  My wonderful children were encouraging me. " Come on, Mom, POINTS!!!"  It was 12 degrees and I figured I better get out there before it got warmer!  I needed this run, today.

For those of you who like a challenge- there is a FREEZE YOUR GIZZARD RUN. in Minnesota coming up in January.  I just want the hoody that states.... ONLY the BOLD RUN COLD!!!!

Have a safe and Happy New YEar, everyone!

We are staying snug and warm at home...now for some hot chocolate.
