NICE! Thanks! It is Saturday here and it's good to start the weekend with a longish ride. And it's warm! I know, we got it all backwards here. Edited by markz 2013-01-04 6:38 PM |

Veteran 112 Wollongong | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed Rest day today (Sat). I have my first sprint triathlon tomorrow and although it's only a "C" race for me, I've upped my consistency over the past couple of weeks so thought a rest day was in order. Also gives me the opportunity to do some of the tasks around the house I did not do over the Christmas/New Year break while I was having so much fun. The sprint will be interesting. I suspect I'll end up doing much of it at the same pace I did the HIM! Probably an age thing. My daughter is also racing which is great. She's just getting into Triathlons.

Member 27 Issaquah, WA | Subject: RE: Ernesto's group (5th season) - Closed Wednesday I had a really good 1400 yard swim workout. Keeping at the drills I found embarrassing, awkward, and at times questioning their value paid off. I could feel everything I've been working at coming together. My 45 minute run yesterday was interesting. It was my first MAF run or better put walk. I had a hard time keeping my HR at 129. It seemed to be either to low or to high. I must not have programed my HRM correctly because it didn't beep when I went above/below the target HR. After the workout the readings for time in/above/below HR did not add up to the full time of the workout. I'll reprogram the HRM for my run on Sunday. Planned but didn't get to my bike or swim workouts today. Instead I spent the time at the credit union getting all the fraudulent purchases made with my mother's debit card sorted out. Had to cancel the card and order a new one. Hope you all have a good weekend.

My swim was around 50min, bike 3hrs and run around 2 hrs. all the extra training and help from the group is what got me that times. i was gunning for under 6hrs and i think thats what i did. I felt good almost all run till around the 17km mark. 5km of the run was along the beach which was hard. the ride was fast out but strong head wind on the way back. No RR till i get back home in a few weeks. Now to enjoy time with the kids |

Went out for another ride this morning, pushed a bit further than I have been. Went up some pretty big hills which I felt were very tough on my quads, but I still think I could go further / longer. Planning on heading out to the pool today which should be interesting. Been a few years since I went and actually swam, unless messing about in water parks counts . Need to start doing some running soon, its the part I'm most concerned about. I'm going to try and get myself in the habit of going out for about 30 mins before work at least 3 times a week with a longer run at the weekend. |
