So I did 1 mile at 9:50, 1 at 9:40, and 1 at 9:30 and 1 at 9 finishing at 8:45 for the last little bit just because I could. I heard Dennis post, start uncomfortable and stay there like a mantra over and over in my head. It was uncomfortable for me but I also set a new Beth Land Treadmill record! Thanks guys!

That is so awesome! I love it when I can make a suggestion and someone really takes it and benefits from it. Made my day.

Arm position change: My arms were straight so I was pulling like this "I" instead of "--". I bent my arms more.

Good news: I finally got to personally meet Brandon Grover who was in this forum a couple of seasons ago.

Bad news: My contract in Tallahassee is ending in 30 days. So, I'm looking for my next consulting gig. If anyone knows of anyone that needs a great business analyst or project manager with technical skills, let me know. Prefer FL or TX, but open to other locations for the right opportunity (especially Australia and Guatemala).

Swimming again today.

I will ask around Jackie.
Or you could just come here and find something yourself...
Or come here, take a break from work and run some trails with me.

Parkrun cancelled due to flooding, Did 15k run in hilly suburbs.

With this being my first ToS I have quite a bit of anxiety as how I will respond. I'm looking forward to the first workout tomorrow!

Time to HTFU!!!! There is no pacing here it is hold on to the bull for whole ride and hope you don't get thrown off. Expect some days where you will ask yourself why and how and will be pleasantly surprised while on other days you will be cold cocked.

Stages 4,6, 9 will be beastly - #8 will bring it to whole new level. Resist the temptation to dial down intensity/FTP (but it may be necessary in the later stages).

I agree Joe. I have a bunch of GU energy products, a new container of Assos chamois cream, and spare batteries for my power meter. Cycling gear is all cleaned. And finally, just had 1 and 1/3 Chipotle burritos for dinner. I'm ready to Suffer!

Will probably take an easy spin tonight for my point and be up at O dark thirty tomorrow morning to join the peloton. What time are you starting tomorrow?

31 minutes of simulated hills. It went better than I'd thought it might!

Adding a previous workout back in since it looks like it got missed.

Adding my Friday easy swim after an hour CSI Class.

I hope to get some sleep tonight but is going to be tough. I will be making the final installment on my new tri bike tomorrow and get it out of lay-a-way. It feels like Christmas eve when I was a kid and I still believed in Santa. What am I saying, I still believe in Santa!!!

Santa for the win! Enjoy the bike!!

Today was an easy day for me... hit the pavement for a 50 minute run, covering a bit over 6 miles. Chaperoning a retreat this weekend for a group of high schoolers -- taking my running shoes in the off chance that I can sneak away for a quick run. The weather should be perfect for it, and I hate to miss out on a 40-degree day in January!

Day 1 in the bag. Pre-warmup was shoveling heavy wet snow. EoS easy, Long Scream not easy. Went hard (and hopefully not too hard) and came in with an IF of greater than 1.0.

I'm sitting here WAITING PATIENTLY for them to open. I will post pics when I her home.

Mitch-Great pain cave pic, its always nice to see pics of other members in their own environment. To me it makes this place more personal and I think that is a good thing. I do question your sanity at times though, you seem to have this unquenchable thirst to punish yourself on the bike! Wish I had it!!

Now I'm regretting the copious quantity of leg hair I'm displaying. I'm not one to shave my legs (wife won't support me going that far) bug I do try to cut down the forest some. The bike is my first love, especially since I'm not running for now. I set up a couple of spectators for my tour...did you catch them in the photo?

Day 1 ToS 1:14:47 on the trainer. So YES after much debate, consternation, negotiation, discussions by the UCI and ruling by the USDA because of confusion between doping and dopey, I am in the tour. The stars have aligned and I think I can work the ToS into the schedule this week. I will have to be creative to pull of stages 4 and 6. Yesterday I played hooky from work and went Skiing.

Jim,

The Trainrroad does a good job showing when each stage begins and ends. Quite a bit of overlap if you need it. Make it happen!

Mitch-Actually I did and I was going to mention them but I didn't want you to think I was casing the joint!

Dave-Nice set up, I would so love to have a treadmill in my home. Oh, and my new bike is a Cervelo P2. Does that make is Brand brothers?

I'm jealous of you guys up North with basements, all I have is a garage....until I can get one of the teenagers off to college! it's just not fair!! Anyone else have a Pain Cave they want to share?

P2 is indeed a very nice bike. I have a lowly P1 but do know that I ride it nowhere near its limits. I do like my basement but being able to go outside for a ride would be kind of nice. Of course I am 20min from the ski hill so there is also that too. I guess I am happy where I am.

Here's pain/man cave. P3 on the KK trainer and the treadmill is in the outer room. Good place to watch a game as well.

Your training plan is a guide but you don’t blindly follow it. You shouldn’t know exactly what you are going to do until the day you are to do it.
