Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed gygyhawk - 2008-01-10 3:51 PM I have a Polar F11 and I like it. I had a Timex Ironman before that and it did the job, just doesn't store data like the Polar. The only thing I wish it had was an interval timer, when I was doing run/walk with a group they had set their timer to go off every 3 min, then 1 min, to signal our run/walk intervals. Neither one of my HRM I had that capability. Ahhhhhh! I went from the F11 to the IM. My F11 is scratched, low battery and the HR strap just broke. I haven't really looked through the manual, but I'm guessing I won't be able to track my brick workouts? (time/hr)? Does it store any type of data like the F11? I hope I didn't make a mistake!

Pro 4216 Sous Mon Diadème | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Good morning! I put in 1:15 on the trainer yesterday and did a little corework. Today I have to teach my regular spin class and then later a master class. I also need to get a swim in but, unfortunately, I am not sure that will happen unless I go really late tonight which isn't likely. In between classes my son has a basketball game and my hubby's out of town sooooo... uhhh... yeah, crazy busy . Sounds like lots of great training going in. I'll chime in more later today.

Regular 61 Noblesville, Indiana | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed I might be chiming in late on the Heartrate Monitor topic but here it goes. I've had mostly Polar HR monitors over the years and they work great. Current model does laps, average hr and a number of other functions and I love it. The only downside is battery replacement. I haven't found anyone locally who will replace the battery on the Polar models (maybe this has changed) and I have to send it away to get the battery replaced. I also have a Timex Iron GPS and HRM which works fine and battery replacement is easy. The downside to the Timex is the unit doesn't have as many functions as my current Polar model. Hope this helps. --Jim |

Pro 4541 A farming town in MN | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Had some good workouts the past few days. Things have settled down a bit at work, so I took advantage of it. Yesterday - 4.4 mile run, speedwork. I had some free time at lunch, so got in some stretching, core work and strength training. Today - 11.92 mile run, 21 degrees. Have a great training day everyone! |

Run scheduled for tomorrow while my daughter takes dance, and swim clinic on Sunday. I am about due for a rest day, but it can wait til Mon. or Tue. My left lower back muscles and left hip are on the verge, but I am stretching every day which is keeping it at bay for now. And as I sang the praises of my Polar yesterday the battery died on me about 15 min into cycle class today, but the cycle computer picked up my transmitter, so I still got my Ave HR. How's the swimming going? Pretty good I think. I just need some fine tunning and workouts (direction). Should get both tomorrow and a video tape of what my form looks like. Yikes! I think they are going to wear us out tomorrow. Help! |

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed 36.82 mile ride up the canyon hills today. We had 3 groups meet from 3 different locations with the tri club. On the way back I followed the wrong group, figured it out part way back and had to ride back solo. Don't know that town real well, so a challenge getting back. Hit a few dead ends on major roads as they hit canyon walls. Got lucky found a nice couple who gave me accurate directions to get back. Legs a bit dead. Might do 26 mile ride tomorrow morning. Definitely going to the club swim lesson tomorrow afternoon. |

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed No bike ride this am. My 15 year old dog died this morning. Three years ago she helped me lose 100 pounds, she was always willing to go for a walk, and when I felt like running she loved that. Eventually she got too old to run, but still loved to walk. Still have a 16 year old dog, and she seems to be in good health except for a cataract, and missing a few teeth. Still lots of energy and loves to walk. |

I will get around to posting the weight loss info. but it is HR zone training based. I hope it's helpful to anyone who is wondering "why am I working out all the time and not able to lose the X number of pounds I've been trying to lose for X number of weeks/months/years". 2. Booty Call song... hmmmmmmmmm... I really have to think about that for awhile . 3. Lots of great training going on! 4. Hope everyone who was sick is feeling better... or have kids and SO's that are feeling better... 5. I'll catch up more tomorrow! Edited by milaminute 2008-01-14 9:44 PM |

Veteran 108 Key West, Florida | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Sorry to hear about your loss. We have 3 dogs, and know what a special bond is created! Here is something we have come across in our years of Dog training . . . a wonderful perspective to ease our sorrow! -------------------------------------- Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown... Cashmason - 2008-01-13 3:14 PM No bike ride this am. My 15 year old dog died this morning. I'm ready for it! OK BODY ARMOUR IN PLACE -- LET THE FLAK BEGIN! ... OK -- GAUNTLET ACCEPTED!!! -- and the team is here to witness it!!!! LIFETIME FITNESS -- OLY DISTANCE -- Ruth's Chris to the winner, compliments of the loser! (time to get to work -- hey NOZ -- GOT some Training time available?? ) I also think we need a little swim speed challenge -- What you think - kinda like the run challenge?? Or are you still ascared of the open water ----??? PS = Did have cell phone in back pocket -- no one was home or close enough to do any good! UGH!!! Uh yeah, so maybe still mildly freaked out by open water, but the bigger problem is that the open water is frozen in MN right now... Well, I was thinking more of a pool swim challenge until the frozen tundra thaws out -- Set the terms ! O.K. Brett, as promised, posting best swim splits after today's (short) workout: 400 7:55 You definitely kicked my butt on yardage yesterday! OK -- Finally getting my baseline posted. Scarry how CLOSE it is to SAL! 200 yards - 3:47 It's gonna be neck and neck come July I'm afeerd! But that's all good! SAL is running MUCH faster than me right now -- I've not got a prayer against him on foot at the moment.... Not that that won't change!
