Racing an OLY this weekend in the hills of Clermont, Florida...more of a training race - St Anthony's is my "season opener", but I'm looking forward to getting into the spirit   It will be fun to see how rusty I am!!

No I'm doing Lonestar 70.3 in TX in late April. I might do St. As next year when I age up to the 50-54 AG. Now doing an Oly in April sounds more sensible then doing a HIM in April living in MA but what the heck it will be a great time.

Ok, I'm tired of our thread being low on the page, so I'm moving it up.

Hope everyone has a good weekend of training and can get outside on the bike. It's suppose to be around 50 in the morning here, but climbing to the high 70s or low 80s. Should be great.

What is this weekend of which you speak?

I was off Tuesday...that will be only off day until the following Saturday...so, 11 days on?  I did ride for 3 hours on my "off" day though....

11 days on? Yikes! Hope you get at least a couple of days off after that. Thank you for what you do for our country. Your service is much appreciated.

Did my first tri of the season yesterday. Water was 58 degrees but overall pretty fun. Came in 2/8 for my AG and 18/112 for the race. Went with the Texas Triathlon team and 7/8 of us placed so it was pretty awesome.

Unfortunately in running without socks I have the gnarliest blood blister and cut on the bottom of my right big toe so we'll see how long that takes to heal up so I can get back to running/biking again.

Great way to kick off the season!!

Congrats on the hardware!

Heal up...it's a long time for training and racing before IMFL.

I rode outside and it was 41 and windy, cold and I was under dressed today.

Can't wait to come to TX and do Lonestar 70.3. Still wondering why I signed up for such an early season 70.3 living in MA.

I needed something to look forward to and lots of TX Bters will be there so it will rock even though I won't have the kind of race I could a couple months later.

x2 on the congrats. and hope you heal up quick. i had a pool tri in south ga early in the month and messed my foot up bad. ive ran 1x since and this is what I got from Coach Shanks today when i asked about running:

"DO NOT RUN, I know it's hard bro but you're risking your entire Tri future if you run on that foot before we get (medical) clearance. Keep your chin up man!"

I think this will mess me up for GCT but I am going no matter what. I may have to hand my chip over or walk the half.

Way to go F1longhorn! 58 degree water explains why my feet went numb a few weeks ago when I tried to swim out there. I think I'll wait just a little longer for open water swims.

All Right!  A new bicycle.  How much fun is that ?

Here are March's puny totals:
March's totals:
Bike:13h 36m  - 171.08 Mi
Run:13m  - 0.99 Mi
Swim:2h 58m 28s  - 8750 Yd
Strength:1h 53m
Skiing:51h 15m
Yoga:3h 00m

Some day I should get some consistancy and actually start training.
I'm trying, but life is sometimes complicated.

On the plus side I started running the day before yesterday (a huge half mile) but it didn't hurt the foot injury.  so perhaps there's hope after all.

Seven months left to train!
