Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge billsorg - 2010-02-23 3:15 PM I got in a pretty intense spin class at lunchtime and now I'm completely whooped. I just got some coffee (usually a no-no for me in the afternoon!) so I can stay awake for Lost tonight. Then the alarm will be set for 5:15 for my 8 mile run in the morning... BRING IT! 5 days to go and 17 miles to run in February! BTW... has anyone heard from Andy (ashort33)? He's always been one of our most "vocal" teammates, but we haven't heard from him in quite a while. I see he still has recent workouts in his logs... Andy... are you out there??? Hm. Maybe THAT"S the reason our post count is so low this month!!!! That's true though -- we haven't heard from him in a long time.... Hope he's ok! ANDY! Where are you????? (Road trip to Andy's house to make sure he's OK!) |

I can't tell if I am getting sick or just beat down from the past few days. I am hoping just tired. I tried to ride the trainer but couldn't. I'm off to rest. You need to REST. NOW is a good time. Your family will not be able to function if you get sick! Who will clean up the puke?... I mean, who will make sure the kids get plenty of fluids and care? It's official. I'm sick. And I still get to clean up the puke. But to be fair, Bryan is sick too. Hope it is short lived. This week is a total wash, already. |

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge Snow day today! I have a feeling clearing the nonstop, wet snow and the sledding yet to come will end up replacing my run today. We'll see how energetic I feel. But I WILL get on the trainer today for some more mileage! |

Pro 4541 A farming town in MN | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge Sorry to hear about all the illness and misfortune amongst the team. Hopefully the next few weeks will be the chance to recover and reenergize. Ran 3 miles on the treadmill this morning. Did 2 1-mile repeats at 9 min/mi pace. Knee felt great and I didn't feel any twinges of pain. Time to ramp back up, but SLOWLY. I'll make sure to follow the 10% rule... |

Its bad enough when you get sick, but to have the whole family sick while your sick. Everyone will get the rest they need except you because you're taking care of everyone else. At least you're all getting it over with at once instead of dragging it on for weeks. I hope you all get better soon and we'll see you in next months challenge if you're up to it. |

Then I'm back on the treadmill tomorrow morning for my 8 mile run. This has been a tough month for our group with illnesses, injuries and the dreaded February winter blues. But we're still within striking distance of winning this thing, so that's a testament to the "Huggie Toughness"! Hang in there hugs and finish strong! We're getting 1-2 inches of rain... yes, that's right... I said RAIN! Yippee! Wash away all this nasty white stuff! uggg we got more of the white stuff! I am so done with snow! |

Expert 1246 West Grove, PA | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge The goal this morning was to spend 45min - 1hr in the new saddle and get in a nice drainer ride. But when the alarm went off at 5:15, I felt a little conjested and scratchy in the throat. So I decided the sleep was more important. Biking doesn't count on my LOVE goal, so no biggie. We barely had a dusting of snow by morning rush, but all the kids schools were cancelled anyway. I'm at work and might go over to the gym at lunch to try and chop a few miles off that LOVE goal. Have a great day everyone! |

Extreme Veteran 671 Not Quite DFL | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge got in over 4 miles yesterday over lunch. I played with the incline and varied speed. I won't be able to make my goal, but I'll do what I can. Sorry gang. Today is to be a rest day according to the schedule, but maybe I'll put a mile or two on. |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge Was busy with home projects last night and was worried that I would miss my run. When I finished cleaning up at 10:30 and looked outside it was snowing but I was determined to go for a run. I'm glad that I did. It was a beautiful and peaceful night (except for the occasional car) and I loved watching the snow fall. My time was even better then normal and that doesn't take into account that I had a phone call part way through the run. I'm very glad I went running. Plus, that puts me at 100% on my love goal and 105% on my mileage goal and I still have my long run to go on Saturday. This has been a good month. Now if I can just get my weight goal, it would be the icing on the cake. |

Expert 1246 West Grove, PA | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge Got in a 5 mile treadmill run at lunch. Slow, steady pace... we'll call it a recovey run from the 8 miler yesterday. Felt good to get out some of the soreness. My goal is completely within reach now. My monthly running total now sits at 56.23 Mi. Just 3.77 miles to go to reach my 60 mile goal!!! This snow storm is looking like a non-event right now. We haven't even gotten a dusting. |
