Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors

My ride today turned into a minor adventure. I found a new route on Bikely.com that was the right distance and went into an area I hadn't ridden before. So, I'm cruising along looking for a left turn at 11.5 miles. I get there and there is no left turn. I can see where it used to be before the construction took it away. Since I didn't know the area I decided to go back to the main road and ride on a bit further and then turn around for an out and back ride. It was a bid weird to be riding along knowing how to get back home the way I came but not actually knowing where I was.

Before my ride I did a short run with my daughter. When we got done I got ready for my ride. I figured my running tights were perfect for the ride weather, so off I go. It wasn't until I was back home getting ready for my shower that I realized I had not put on bike shorts. Since I didn't really notice, I guess that means my saddle is pretty good for me.

I took my camera to get pictures of the ride, but only got 2 before the batteries ran out. The first is at the beginning of my road to nowhere, and the second is looking back towards the main road from the same spot.

Great pics Nicole.  Wish I was riding there instead of the basement.  We are still in tornado watch.  But I did get 90 minutes in today while watching a movie.  During that time we went into tornado warning.  It has passed now, but there is more bad weather coming our way and all around the metro Atlanta area in addition to all of north Georgia.  I am so hoping for an outdoors ride tomorrow morning before I have to head off for tennis.

I thought that a time constraint with my son might make me have to ride in the basement, but I was able to work it out and ride outside. The weather was pretty nice: mostly sunny with temps in the 50-60's, but a bit windy.

Nice pictures!! Sunshine!! Oh the jealousy. It also looks so quiet!!! The boulevard was jam packed but mostly with other cyclists. What is it about the fast ones, the show offs that don't feel the need to let you know they are coming. I jumped several times and wobbled when a few flew past me. Only ONE person out of the umpteen I saw said on your left!

I went nice and slow today and took my time and absorbed everything around me, it felt great. I took my camera too - seems to be the in thing these days. lol So enjoy me snaps.

I had to climb these stairs x 3 to get to the bridge.

You look like a 12-year old Drew Barrymore in that pic.  Congrats on the anniversary!  I cannot imagine getting married at 20!  I was 32 and felt about 12 years old as it was.  (Still do most of the time.)

I have to host a brunch this morning, but hopefully the weather cooperates and I get outside to ride this afternoon.  I am desperate to get on my bike!  Nicole, I got lost on my run yesterday, so I can totally relate!  I ended up going about 1/3 more than I had planned.  Oh well!

Love the Drew Barrymore comment Medusa. Fell off my chair laughing. Reminds me that my anniversary is on the 18th (I think). Must admit I was wondering if anyone I know has a scanner, no digital cameras when I got married. It was the year the Giants won Superbowl XXI. MDHillSlug'll know the year.  Eloped & got married in the Caribbean, with the waves crashing on the beach. Ahhh!

Mate knocks on door yesterday. "You riding tomorrow?"

"Wasn't going to. Did four hours on Thursday due to naff weather forecast for weekend".

Mate looks very put out. Mate says, "How about seeing what weather is like at 0830 tomorrow?"

"Oh, go on then!", says I, thinking it'll be raining.

Mate says, with smile on face, "About 2 1/2 hours?".

Rains overnight but stops around dawn.

"$**$% #@ ^>!"

...............
I'm really embarrassed now. I was only going to do 20 hours for the challenge, but things seem to have got out of hand. Honestly, I didn't pick a low figure to look good. I've forgot that Easter weekend is coming up (Mates have Friday & Monday off ), how many rides will that entail?

Super Bowl XXI? 1987.....The last good one was XX. Well, and a few weeks ago......

Sean Landetta finally retired, did you see that? He was always my favorite Giant. Loved his punting in the NFC playoffs in 1985/6......

Well I suppose that answers the Chicago question of mine, the city or the band (because of your avatar). So that means I've been married for ....... Bloody hell. You don't get that long for murder. OK girls I know it's off topic but I'll bite anyway. Think I've only seen that punt once. Isn't that why it's called the Windy City? I watched Chicago , William Refrigerator Perry, et al, beat Dallas in a preseason game in London in '86. Still got the programme booklet. But couldn't get a ticket for the Giants this year My youngest is a Colts fan, sorry.

I was living in Chicago back in 1986. The whole town had Bears fever. It was exciting, even for a Giants fan.

allrighty peeps.
i messed up the spreadsheet. it really was just a matter of time
i added my miles to the wrong week, my percentage is the same, but it says that i did all my miles in week one, and none since. oops. clearly not the sharpest knife in the drawer---BUT my percentage was over 75%!! yahoo!!

ANYWAY, that being said, i had a ride today, i added a LITTLE resistance, i got really really REALLY sweaty, but i made it. my butt might not survive the month of march, but at least i don't actually FEAR the bike leg of the race

how was the st paddys day dash lynne?? i haven't looked up your RR yet, i will tomorrow, tonight i'm off to bed.

so tired, need my bed.
