swbkrun - 2009-04-24 11:54 AM Jeremy I will have never noticed, but I will try and pay attention on Monday.  I think I usually exhale as a kick off the wall.  I usually breath (2 strokes before) come in, flip, kick off the wall (belly still in the air), exhaling from my nose, twist over, breath, swim?!

I think?!  Here is a video of what I "TRY" and duplicate.

Back 6 pages and probably 5 hours ago, there was talk about FB and twitter. Well, I signed up on twitter yesterday and my BT workouts will be going there if any of you 'tweet' - man, that sounds lame.  I go by mwilliams62 over there if anyone is interested in being a disciple, er, follower.

Have a good weekend.  Wife called and said the oldest is sick now too - should be a fun one around our house this weekend.

Guess who is off to buy his 1st wetsuit after work??? Should be a humbling experience. But out tri store has then 20% off today so I figured i might as well jump in feet first.

Fun. Make you sure you are wearing something like tri short when you go to try it on.  And you are right, grinding to get the thing up is a little embarrasing the first time.

Kim--how cool we have birthdays together!  I think you are the more compenent, well rounded twin. You swim, you bike, you run....me, I just run and sorta try to do the other stuff! I also think I am quite a bit older.  Our mother must have had a rough time.

I have been out of pocket the last few days and have really missed checking in and keeping up with what is going on.  I hope everyone that is racing this weekend has a good one!  Good luck to everyone...Sorry, no one needs luck...everyone is WELL TRAINED right?

My family and I went to the lake this afternoon and had to come back for tee ball practice, but I wanted to share my open water swim with everyone.  First OWS swim today, but man it is so cool having something to do at the lake but drink beer.  That will come tonight!  Below is a pic off my dock, and I am looking forward to swimming many miles here this summer.  I really enjoyed swimming this afternoon.  Trying to get used to sighting etc, but was able to get about a mile in this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I am a wetsuit owner! I went with the "Pipeline by 19"..Entry level suit. For $250CDN. Which is a decent price it seems like. Its the same price as renting it for 4 weeeknds essentially. They people in the store rock, so I don't have a problem giving them my hard earned $$. And yes it was very humbling getting that baby on. I'll need my wife to pull and twist and yank to get it on me on race morning for the first time.
I got a Medium. Made me feel good that a Med-Large was too big for me. Have a good night all and
kick butt racers!

Trevor....

I have been a few miles on wet suits over the years, and been through a couple suits.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you swim with it before your race.... SERIOUSLY!

OH absolutely....I just meant WOW it was hard to put on. I will be pool swimming and open water in it a few time prior to using. I couldn't imagine tryiing to swim in my 1st OWS with it on. I'd drown for sure!

Okay Karen, you win on the best falling over story.  Gobble gobble gobble!  But next time, fall on the left side of you bike. The right side is the expensive side Wink

HAHA! Thanks for the tip!!  I'll keep that in mind next time - I don't want to waste my money be falling the wrong way.  Laughing   I am going to ride the same way tomorrow!!  I'll let you all know how it goes!

How very punny. Congrats on getting the new suit. I looked at buying one but decided against it for now. I have reserved my wetsuit from our LTS (local tri store) for my three races. If I do more I will probably go without a suit. You'll love how much buoyancy they give you. Take good care of it and it will take good care of you. By the way where will you be doing your OWS practices?

The lake is really beautiful and reminds me that come July ours should be thawed in Northern WI .  There are still ice fishermen on it this weekend.  How big is the lake?  It is so calm. how clean?  We can basically see to the bottom of ours,  but unless it is early am chop is a factor.

OK Here it is, the new group table.  To copy this table and put it in your training log:

  • Go to my entry with the table in it and hit 'Quote'
  • Instead of copying the table, to the control panel above where you would normally write a response; See where the drop down boxes offer 'Styles' 'Format' .... Look under 'Font Family' and hit the 'HTML' link.  This will open up the HTML code.
  • First you will see '
JHagerman - 2009-04-25  7:38 AM'   Do not copy this.
  • Under the quote you will see '<table style="border'
  • You will need to copy All of the HMTL from that point all the way down to the bottom until you see '</table>'
  • Don not copy the '
'Here is where it will get tricky with the new BT.  If you have not yet edited your goals, you should still have 2 sections; a left and a right.  You can put the table wherever you want.  I suggest this:

  • Go to your training log and hit 'edit' at the top left of the goals section.
  • Click once in the area that you want your table to be placed.
  • Hit the same HTML button like you did earlier under the 'Font Family' drop down menu.
  • Paste the HTML that you already copied.
  • Click the 'Update' button on the bottom left of the HTML window.
  • Click 'ok' for your goals section to be updated and just make sure the table is where you want it to be placed.
That should be all.  There are a few details that could be cumbersome for people, so if you have problems, let me know and I'll try to help further.  (In some training logs, you used to need to make a change that allowed you to edit tables, I'm not sure if this is still an option, so I'll have to look around)

Sorry Tony,

I know I've missed a few people.

So Everyone else, if you didn't send me a PM requesting to be on the table, then I didn't add you - not to be mean, it is just easier for me to see who needs to be added based on my messages, than to look through 30 pages of forums to find who is in the group.

PM me and I'll add you and post a new table.  You'll still follow the same basic directions above to get the table posted into your log.

A friend of mine live down in Lake Bonavista, so I can get into that lake with her. As well, My inlaws have a cabin at Gull Lake, so whenever the urge hits me at the cabin I can get in. My OWS isn't until June 7th, so hopefully things warm up asap!

Hey awesome thanks Jeremy.....I tried the long hard way of putting it in my goals.....
But what I did was I hit "quote" as if to resond to you, but just copied the table and then pasted it in my goals and it worked with the proper formatting and everything.
Sometimes simplicity is the key!! Thanks again and good luck with your DU!

Jeremy- Thanks for doing this.  I can only imagine how are it is....

I do want to make one thing clear....  If you are not on that table IT DOES NOT MEAN you aren't part of this group.  Please don't look at it that way!  Thank you!  If you are fine not being on that table then don't worry about it.  If you want to be on that table then please send Jeremy a PM when you get a chance.

For those of you who don't know what that is for:  It is basically a spot in your goals where it list your Mentor Group, and you can click on the name it will take you directly to the workout logs for that person.  A really nice feature.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLS!!!
