Artemis - 2010-02-17 11:42 AM Nicole, I love how you change your avatar, yet I always know that it is you.  It's pretty awesome.

I didn't know how much fun an avatar could be when I first picked this one.

I don't know how to do this...that should be my race report.  If I remember the sheet at the YMCA correctly, I was 12 out of 47 which I think is pretty good for a Newb!  Even posted a pic, it's me on the right.

Also signed up for an Olympic Distance in September!!! Eek!!

You did it right!!  Checking out now!

That's a great finish for your first tri!  Front of the pack (FOP)!!!  Well done!!

Congrats on signing up for the next one - looks like you've got the bug.

misfit_1 - 2010-02-14 2:32 PM Just got back from the Indoor Tri.  Thanks for the on-line support!!!

It was a lot of fun; great experience.  I'll share the race report when I have #'s - but didn't count my laps in the pool because I was trying to not drown; don't want to admit my bike mileage until I see how everyone else did; and not sure how many laps I ran or what it equates to...the only downside it that they couldn't get the spin bikes set up properly so we were stuck with recumbent bikes.  The worst.

But going to sign up for another one that's exactly the same at a different YMCA next month, and see if I can do any better.

Until then, I've got to get back to running; I've got a hilly half marathon in a few weeks. >_<

great job!

I signed up this week for a Tri Training program at the local Fleet Feet (which is very nice, brand new store with a community room),http://www.fleetfeetsyracuse.com/newsletters/fleetfeetnewsvolume494february15-2010.html.

Between you guys and those guys, I will REALLY have no reason to fall apart in my training and not finish this. Thanks again to everyone - this is about the time in my exercise programs I start to get bored and blow of stuff. And I am NOT bored...a little broke - this stuff is expensive... but not bored.

Looking forward to having some crazy locals to work out with, especially when I start the running....so snow, start with the melting!

That sounds great Jenna - Fleet Feet has a lot of good stuff going on; and I'm looking forward to when they start getting Tri gear in.  I just need one more thing and then my shopping is done for the season = the wetsuit!  I joined Fleet Feet's No Boundaries program to be one of their mentors.  I'll have to check if mine has any Tri programs as well.

the snow wasn't that great, but I had fun regardless.

I followed it up with a good job interview.  I will hear back about a second interview tomorrow.

I'M BACK!

Hi y'all.  I've been missing in action since Christmas.  I've had some pretty bad back pain since then and haven't been able to walk (for exercise) much less workout.  It's been very gradually getting better and I've been doing some exercising so the chiropractor says I can start training again (gently).  Sorry I didn't post but I was so upset about another injury (stress fracture last year) that I just couldn't read about working out or triathlons.  It's disappointing to be starting at a worse place and a heavier weight again, but I'm going to tri

It's great to read that a lot of you have pushed through some difficulties too and I really wish you all the best.

Now it's time to start working on my new and improved training plan.

Any goal plans for March?

Well February is almost over! How is everyone doing on their Feb goals?

i am proud to say that I ran for 18 minutes (straight) last night! It was the first time in YEARS that I have done that and I know one of my Feb goals was to be able to run for 15 minutes. So I have met one of my goals!!! Halfway there to completing the full 5k I'm training for!

This month has been a struggle for me, but am happy I met one of my goals and hope everyone else has too!

Well February is almost over! How is everyone doing on their Feb goals

February has not been kind to me. Because of the massive snows I haven't bike outside at all and I only managed a single run almost 3 weeks ago! I had absolutely no enthusiasm for my trainer ride this morning. I'm feeling blah and am really needing an outside ride! I'm thinking tomorrow might be a mental health or work from home day with a late morning bike ride!

Hi everyone.  So much for my goal of working out every day this month.  My back has been killing me since Friday.  I've taken 4 days off.  I got a massage last night, and now I have bruises all over my back!  I'm going to try to run this afternoon.  I'm hoping it's still sore just from the massage and will be better tomorrow.

Melody - Sorry to hear about your back, but glad it's getting better.  Glad you are back.

Erin - Good job on the running!!

Melissa - Snoeshoeing?  What is it?  I've lived in TX all my life so we miss out on all the fun snow sports!  Good luck on your interview.

Nicole and Chris - I'm going to send a friend request to you on FB.

I plan on going to the gym tomorrow morning to do a swim and a bit of spinning.

I imagine everyone down there needs some mental health time... I can't believe how excited I was to see bare sidewalk this weekend when we had a little tiny thaw! Seems everyone I talk to is eagerly anticipating Spring. I know I am! (remind me of that when I'm complaining about running in heat and humidity come July).
