Comments:

I thought I did pretty well, but still need to work on the 'wall stopping' issue.
What would you do differently?:

Not stop at the wall so often. Maybe next time!

Recumbent bike at a level 6. x_x
The worst.
What would you do differently?:

Not get on a recumbent.
Transition 2

Run
  • 15m
  • 1.8 miles
  • 08m 20s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

Went out too fast (as per usual) and had side stiches within 5 minutes. The next 10 minutes was spent controlling the cramping and trying to breathe. Someone needs to teach me to pace myself. I think it was a good pace, but would have been better if I started out slower and sped up later.

Event comments:

My first tri, and it was great. They had issues with their spin bikes so gave us recumbents instead - but that was fine. Volunteers were helpful and great at cheering. (but I was also in the first heat, maybe they weren't so cheerful after 4 hours). Overall, it was fun.

Congratulations!!!

Pacing yourself is definitely the hardest part. I try to start off a lot slower than I think I need to because it's easier to get faster, but it's hard to slow down after you start off too hard.
