crimefighter2 - 2010-01-20 1:52 PM Lunch hour workout went great!  Did 30 minutes (and 7 seconds) on an exercise bike with a cross country program.  It said I went 7.5 miles.  I wonder how accurate those bikes are on distances?  After that, I wanted to do a tiny run, so...I did a rehab run, of sorts.
5 minute run at 10 mm pace, 1.0 incline
3 minute walk at 2.0 incline
2 minute run at 2.0 incline
2 minute walk at 3.0 incline
total of 1 mile.
Only thing barking today were my calves from that bike ride!
636 calorie burn, if you keep track of such things.
Ok.  Back to work.

Nice job!!  My shins hurt just thinking about running right now....  Hope they get over it by this evening!

Winter doldrums?

Yup.  I am in one bad mood today.  Grrrrr.

What's wrong? Would a tasing help?

Sure!  There's nothing a good ol fashioned tasing can't cure

I figure if it's applied right it could be something like electroshock therapy!

I don't know, just got up feeling cruddy and the kids were being all lazy and such (leaving their dirty laundry on the floor instead of putting it in the laundry basket) and it made me crabby.  Tired of cold weather too.  Just blah.  Perhaps a little jolt of electricity could get me back to feeling like my normal self!

Dee is not around, how about this jolt...

Wow.  Do they still make that stuff?  Or has their market share been eaten up by the so-called energy drinks?

I think so, but he company filed chapter 11 last year....

I hate PF.

Why won't it go away?

I'd use the taser on it, but it already feel like it's being tased....

Unless I taser it first, so it leaves me alone....

I think my type of jolt is more inspirational than that one. It leaves a longer-lasting impression, anyway.

I've heard a million ways....  roll a golf ball around in bare feet; they have those Russian sock things that keep your toes flexed at night...  trigger point...  dry needle...  surgery...

Kendra suggested myofascial release.  I did it once and it was a huge help!  She's had to do it a bunch of times, but it does keep hers under control

billsorg - 2010-01-20 9:59 AM Hello peeps.  Got a 1/2 hour treadmill run in this morning.  Felt like I was running under water.  Whatever this bug is that I'm fighting, it's all in my chest.  Was tempted to slow to a walk a few times, but kept going for a little over a 5k.  It feels like I've been away from it for a month.

When I had the bug last month - lots of coughing and the like - I would put a Hall's coughdrop in my mouth on the way to the gym, still had it for most of my run and it seemed to work wonders.  Have you tried that?

I haven't, but I'm willing to try anything.  I haven't even been coughing that much, just feel a "heaviness" in my chest and a scratchy throat.  It was a little better today, but I'll try the cough drop thing tomorrow... thanks!

GROUP TASING FOLLOWED BY A WINE CHASER... Sign me up!!!  Althought these winter doldrums have me reaching for something a little stronger, like a dirty martini.  We'll all get through this $h|tty weather together!

Got a 35 min trainer ride in this morning.  Moderate exertion.  I still haven't gotten into the spreadsheet to adjust my goals, but will try to remember tonight.  My wife and I got a new computer this weekend, so all my favorites, shortcuts, etc. have to be redone.  Perhaps this weekend.

Hang tuff, T&C's!  Remember, there's bragging rights involved here!

*ducks*

The frozen water bottle rolled under the foot did wonders the one time I felt PF flaring up.

Hey team.  I am going to test ride 2 tri-bikes this afternoon.  I am very excited but a little nervous.  The shop is in a cruddy part of town with really lousy roads (pot holes & narrow double lanes) not sure where I am gonna ride.  I don't want to crash on a test ride!!

I'm sure they don't want you wrecking their bikes so hopefully they will know were it is best to ride.

At my 1st triathon (in 2008), I saw a Felt B2 bike that I thought was really cool.  Saw a used one on eBay that night... bought it.  No test ride, never rode a tri bike, just got caught up in the "tri moment".  Still have it and love it.
