Seriously, though, I've read about water manipulation for bodybuilding contest prep and would not want to do that. Hope you rehydrated well. I did Friday's WOD early. Last two sets of snatches I only did 5 reps with the 95 then wussed and did KB swings with the 24 kg. I started out ripping the 95 up and then it started getting very heavy. Had a cold earlier this week so why kill myself/risk injury my first workout back? This was a good WOD.missed the last couple of workout due to cutting for a stupid fashion show/modeling thing tonight. Let me just vent... Cutting water, taking Epsom Salt Baths, and ingesting Taraxatone/regular coke, makes you feel like . I feel like the morning after a night of hardcore binge drinking, except possibly worse and without the headache. Uhgg, the things we do for beauty. First thing I'm doing tonight after the show, Drinking as much H20 as I can consume. I feel like a crack addict the way i'm jonesin' for water right now. hehe good job on the workouts the last couple of days guys. Dang mike I totally missed that you did todays workout! your an animal! The question I've got for you, did you catch in half squat or full squat? I just can't seem to catch in full squat no matter how much I practice. I generally just do power snatches with a half squat. One time in my life I did a squat snatch with 135. Haven't been able to do it since. If I had bumpers and a platform, I could eventually get the hang of doing the full versions of the lifts. You need to not be afraid of diving under the bar and you need to be able to dump the weight if things go bad. Not something I want to do on my basement floor. |

Elite 2608 Denver, Colorado | Subject: RE: CrossFit WOD jdbadger - 2008-11-16 12:27 AM Hello _ I am thinking about trying this crossfit thing - especially since my physical therapist has promised to show me how to do all of the Olympic lifts correctly - are there any of you that follow the crossfit endurance workouts? We discussed the CF endurance workouts some time back and I agree with Grandy's analysis. Say you're training for a marathon, for instance. If you've done 2 to 3 marathons and have put in the miles, you could probably get by on the CFE workouts alone and most likely improve speed. For those, such as myself, who have yet to complete a marathon, I believe I need to put in the miles. There's no substitute for conditioning the legs to go that far other than lots of running and I think trying to get by on the low volume CFE has you do will make you one hurting camper on race day. Now, I'm not one of those who believes in a strict "build a base first and then do interval work." I like doing interval work, I currently do interval work, and I believe that everyone, even a beginner, should mix up their training and do some interval work even in a "base phase." I'm what I'd call a cafeteria CrossFitter. If I see a WOD that I like, I'll do it. Otherwise, I'll just do my own thing, which these days is very similar to the stuff you see on CF. |

Champion 7136 Knoxville area | Subject: RE: CrossFit WOD yesterday 5x5 Squats (Oh Bill Starr... how I miss you sometimes) Last little bit my squatting has not been quite as deep as it used to be, so for this WoD I focused on making sure to get to the absolute bottom (A$$2Ankles) on every rep. Not Quite as weak as I had figured I'd be, but still a wuss.
Set1: 135 (too low, should've used as a warmup) Set2: 185 Set3: 205 Set4: 215 Set5: 225 (barely)
Afterwards some Pistol Squats to round out the misery. |

Wish I could have pushed just a bit harder on the Dumbbell swings to get below the 10min mark, but all in all, not bad. |

Even when doing a split jerk I seem to be missing alot of the tech. of the lower body. That and I keep fearing hitting myself in the jaw with the bar. |

Tell me, does everyone follow the WOD on the CF site, or do you change it up? Do other days? Etc? Thanks for the anticipated help! I follow the WoD fairly closely... it really depends on how much your training in the 3sports. For example, I don't want to do the 5k run WOD on a day that i'll later do my long mileage run. Or I don't want to do Fran on my long swim day... I tried for a while, but even working out morning/evening, my body didn't have time to recover. Before I was training for a triathlon I would say I did xfit for 6-7 months without missing a single wod... adding running/biking/swimming just makes it that much more difficult to do the harder wods... (i think todays was run400m, 30back extensions, 15 deadlifts, 255lbs... no thanks on my long swim day haha) |

Tell me, does everyone follow the WOD on the CF site, or do you change it up? Do other days? Etc? Thanks for the anticipated help! I'm a "cafeteria CrossFitter" and just do the WODs that seem interesting, challening, or fun. The ones that require 100 pushups and 200 squats I pass. Today's WOD, for instance, seems challenging. On other days I still stick with Crossfit-like workouts that focus on metabolic conditioning such as barbell complexes or lots of kettlebell swings. |

Tell me, does everyone follow the WOD on the CF site, or do you change it up? Do other days? Etc? Thanks for the anticipated help! I usually follow the scaled workouts from the BrandX site (link on main page under "start here"). I'll also make adjustments based on available equipment. I treat the WOD as listed like a sub 4 hr. marathon; a pretty good goal but not realistic for me at this point. I ended up in the hospital with Rhabdo after the Level I Certification, so I tend to approach with a bit more caution anyway. |
