I tried to register for my exams this spring (not as fun) and the website didn't recognize my authorization number and I panicked.  I called up the California PE board and thought I was going to get the usual bureaucratic runaround withing getting it sorted.

BUT, they told me that they aren't taking new registrants till tomorrow.  I wish the website said THAT  instead of "your number is invalid".

I learned something yesterday.  Clutter makes me anxious.  It's subconscious, but it's there.  I started to pack stuff, organize and make the place look a bit more clutter free, and my spirits elevated as each thing went away.  Problem is, I like a minimalist look and the wife like to display EVERYTHING and is a pack rat.

Case in point - she bought an "8" and "0" shaped candle for her dad's B-day years ago.  Never used.  I told her I was throwing them out and she said "NO!  They are brand new and we can use them".

So I'm like, we have stored them for years and haven't used ANY candles yet.  So now we have to wait years more for the occasion that

1. Someone has a birthday we need a cake fore
2. That person uses a "0" or "8".
3. If the person's birthday is 28 or 38, we can go out and buy JUST the 2 or 8 that somehow matches the 8 we bouth years ago?

All of that instead of paying $1.99 for another one IF we need it.

We also bought some tea in Turkey about 4 years ago.  Still unopened.  I wanted to throw it out.  Again, "it doesn't go bad, so why throw it out".

How about - even if it DOESN'T go bad, we haven't opened it in 4 years, what makes you think we will open it in the NEXT 4 years?  Considering she has bought tea 100 times over since then instead of use it.

They must see the free entry coming and are blocking you for paying customers! 

Speaking of Ipad.  I play Clash of Clans on it and it's seriously addicting...

The only thing I don't like about "free" games sometimes (and it's not the adds, I can handle that) it's the in game purchases they want you to make.

They bank on people's lake of patience.  They will drag a portion of the game on and on, and in order to "speed it up", you can pay with tokens, or gems, or whatever.  But how do you get those gems?  You guessed it, you have to buy them with real cash.

Since I'm stingy, I do it the old fashioned way and work for it.

Tried it for kicks, and the chicago marathon site is up, but the registration link on Active.com is kaput.  Takes me right to a "site unavailable" page.
