I think I am going to carry my wheels on the plane and send the frame FedEx Ground to the hotel. Thanks for the reply Jim. I can't wait to get out there and see all the BTers!! I'm nowhere near where I need to be to do well out there but I am floating well and the swim should be no problem. After that it's anyones guess! Gatorade swim Friday morning at 8am? |

Pro 4608 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread Thanks for all the positive words everyone. This PF has been a massive blow both physically and emotionally. I hit rock bottom on Friday when I was hobbling home from the podiatrist on crutches in the pouring rain. It's hard to imagine walking 26.2 let alone running it, but I am praying it will get better. I had a great weekend, got in a little over 100 more miles on the bike and my foot is improving a little each day. My mind is in a positive place, but I'd be a fool not to be worried a little. I'm officially tapering! And with the injury, I'm actually looking forward to it. |

History says no. I think the forecast before 06 when they had 55 and rainy was pretty solid up until the day before? Not trying to scare folks, just think its realistic to be ready for anything. Was 41 in Milwaukee this AM for my morning run. The sun comes up and makes things better quick though. |

I realize the forecast will change about 60 times from now until race day. Not trying to poo poo anything and would love that forecast. However, since its taper time, would recommend folks that dont have em pick up some arm warmers in case and maybe at least consider possible cold weather gear you might do the bike and run in. As we get closer to the race obviously we will have a better idea what to expect but just want you folks from warmer climates that are traveling to have it figured out in case we do have cold weather. Supposed to warm up a bit this next week though from the cool temps we are having. |

Cut holes in the end for my hands and used them yesterday. They worked out really really well. I highly recommend that rather than throwing down 40 - 50 bucks. Then if you need to get rid of them during the ride, no worries. |

New user 35 | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread Hey Everyone - Just wanted to (finally) say hi and wish everyone well during our taper(madness). I'm coming from Ohio and look forward to meeting BT'ers at the Gatorade swim friday. I have a buddy who did IM Lou yesterday and I was a wreck hitting "refresh" every 10 minutes to get updates on him. I think they had great weather yesterday, he ended up with I think a 13:04. His goal was sub 14. Oh, he's David's Tri on BT. Anyway, good luck to all, stay healthy, or nurse to health. Anything is Possible. - Tim |

Champion 5495 Whizzzzzlandia | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread I'm really starting to get excited! I think I've done all the training I possibly could have, and, given this broken toe situation, I'm doing as well as I can! I have sliced the side of my running shoe to allow my toe to sorta bulge out the side, and it seems to be working wonders. I can run mostly pain free... The marathon is still going to be an exercise willpower for me, though. We shall see! Looking forward to seeing/meeting you all! Make sure you fire up the camera batteries! We are coming into town on Thursday night. Leaving Monday. I forget where we're staying. I'm assuming we'll do all of the Gatorade swims and maybe even take the bikes for a little spinny at some point before the race. I probably won't do any running, but Chris might. Looking forward to recovering, allowing the fog to lift a bit, shaking this fatigue I've got going, and hitting it at a steady pace come race day! Woot! See you all there! |

Like jszat said, the forecast in '06 looked pretty good one or two days out and conditions wound up quite crapulent. All that said, I know i'll be checking the forecast every day from now until the day before just so I have something else to obsess over. |
