Just checking in. I'm alive. I've just been super swamped.

I've been putting in almost 55hrs/wk lately. And barely managing early morning workouts.

This is getting crazy. Good news, it's paid off. I passed the PE exam and that's a HUGE relief off my shoulders and it opens some doors at work.

Now, to get done with work and start training. 11 days to Buster Britton and it's going to HURT!

titeloops - 2011-06-01 4:16 PM I have a sprint this saturday and an oly on sunday. Really out of shape. I might drown on sunday. Wish me luck!

How's your knee doing?

Just starting to try and run again. It hurts, but no where near as bad.

Pretty crappy month...

I'm between training plans right now so I don't really expect June to be a whole lot better but we'll see.

I passed the PE exam

That's HUGE, man.  Super big congrats on that!

Oh, yeah, you now have 11 days to Buster Britton. Better get cracking. ;-)  At least the long term weather projections have it not being a 99 degree day.

I just didn't want to make you feel bad. ;-)

I normally don't log my swim times because with all the rest between sets I don't think overall workout time means much.  I forgot that the time would get entered when I copy race results into my log.  Too funny.

I found one this afternoon.  Played with the kids and did a whole 25 yards of actual swimming.

Woohoo - I rule!

Sprint this morning. 15th overall, 4th in my AG. Guess I'm happy with that considering my fitness level and IT issues. My swim was pretty bad. Here are my splits:300 meter swim: 5:57T1: 0:5712 mile bike: 34:47T2: 0:545k run: 23:31Knee is pretty tight tonite. Think I'm skipping the oly tomorrow.

Alright, I need some advice.....

I was not anticipating getting a new bike this year, but possibly next year look for a tri bike.  I'm currently on a Trek 2.1 road bike with aero bars, which is working okay.

But, I was at the bike shop on Friday and noticed they have the following 2010 models:

A Cervelo P1 for $1190 (retail is $1700)

A Cervelo P2 for $1700 (retail is $2800)

Thoughts???  Is it worth it, or wait until next year for the possible 2011 models.

I'd hold out for the 2011 models as most of them have upgraded to the new BB30 bottom bracket which should make them a bit more future proof for parts (though I could be totally wrong )

Have you been fitted for a cervelo already or did you just come across some good deals?  I'm looking to get a bike at the end of the season and and am considering getting fitted now so I can jump quickly on a close-out sale.

Tite - Was this Kerr Lake?  Nice race.  It was a hot one - especially Sunday, so you didn't miss much on the Oly.  We're racing in Asheville this weekend and are hoping for cooler weather!

I have not been fitted yet.  I was thinking about trying one on for size and see what happens.  I just ran across the deals.

Had an oly on Saturday with average results.  It was HOT.  Race report here.

Swim was slower than expected.  880 yds @ 17:49.  Meh.

Bike was good.  24.5 miles @ 1:06 (22.3 mph).

Run was HOT.  10k @ 47:14 (7:37/mile).  Did I mention it was HOT?

Good race, I'm not 100% satisfied but I finished 9th of 39 in AG @ 2:12:36 and 34th of 261 males.  Overall winner was @ 1:57:xx.

I love my P2.  Bang for the buck it's hard to beat, if it fits.

So, I've been MIA for a while enjoying some family time, and being lazy.  But, today, I committed to Augusta 70.3!

I'm excited for my 2nd HIM - hope to improve upon Orlando and have fun.

Who else is doing Augusta?
