HonoluluAngel - 2012-12-11 1:20 PM I had what I thought was an awesome 3 hr dinner date w a guy 9 yrs my senior. We had tons in common and were conversing nicely. He drove me home and shook my hand. Then I pulled him close and kissed him on the lips very quick. 1. Did the offered hand shake mean he's not really interested? NO 2. Was I being too fwd on initiating the kiss? Hell NO There is a 2nd date in 2 days, but is a sports activity. I'm really interested on this guy so I don't wanna blow it.

Most guys would probably appreciate the girl making the first move.  Totally takes the pressure off us.

This one takes the cake...Monday night's date just texted me and asked me to send him money for the bill!!!  Initially I said "just drinks"  and he texted later in the day and said "dinner?" and made a reservation.  This morning I get a text and he said "i wasn't planning on dinner in my budget, can you send me some money?"  I texted back "you suggested dinner.  Send me your address."  CRAZINESS!

You should text him the dating site's 'warnings' about people who ask you for money and say you're going to report him

Here's the first part of match.com's 'warning'
Protect your finances
Ignore any request to send money, especially overseas or by wire transfer, and report it to us immediately – even if the person claims to be in an emergency

Well, women arent much better....

I was dating a girl from Portland a couple years ago and would fly up there 2x a month(this was kinda nice since she wasnt always in my hair and I have the financial means to do it.)

Anywho, we set up a 5 day weekend, all kinds of plans etc, land at PIA and within 20 minutes am dumped. Okay, fine, coulda done it before I spent money on the flight but whatever.
She had bought tickets to an event and since I decided to come home instead of hang around for 5 days(she couldnt understand this) she asked me to pay her for my ticket to the event.

I like being single. I like it ALOT.

Zanne.

Thats just brilliant. If the date had led to a 2nd I bet the dinner would have been in his budget.

Unreal what some people think is ok.  Seriously, texting a girl after a date and asking for money?  What F'ing planet is this guy from?  Dumping a guy then asking to be reimbursed for a ticket to a show?  People are nuts.

After all the horror stories I read on this thread, I'm glad I didn't get any dates from those dating sites.

I'll stick to meeting women the old fashioned way.  If 1 out of 5 relationships now start online - then 4 out of 5 do not.

Guess I will chime into this thread, starting the day/year off with being informed that the girl that I had been seeing some just doesn't see it going anywhere and just doesn't know how to create that spark between us even though she does like me. I understand there really has to be that "fire or spark" between people but i guess it hurts more when I thought we did have something.

Now you can flirt with all the single ladies at the races this year.  (1/2 glass full)

Time to update y'all.  I HAVE A DATE!

I figured I would meet someone at one of my races...and I did.  Ran with a lady for a few miles - came across the finish line about 1 minute ahead of her, when she crossed the line I congratulated her and struck up a conversation.

I said "we should go run sometime" and got her phone #.  I texted her today and the conversation led to a running/lunch date for this Sunday!

Thought for the weekend [saw this and wanted to share] ...

"Have you ever loved someone so much that you wanted to keep them hidden from the world and all to yourself."

"Apparently, this is considered kidnapping"
