Asalzwed - 2012-11-01 12:59 PM How often do you guys lube your chain if you ride every day in the rain?

Every 100 miles (or weekly) and when it rains.  Sorry!

Yikes. Like 900 miles 40 weeks overdue. No wonder my chain was orange Smile

I think you just failed at Seattle.

I just ate my lunch mid run on the Stadium steps of the Clink. Got all my Seattle points back.

Oh, so DS2 is hooked.  He posted an update last night on FB that talked about what he's up to with school (psychology stuff), work (bartender stuff) etc and he says that he's training for another HIM. So I asked him which one and he said he didn't know but wanted to do another. Laughing

Shouldn't you be focused on S/B/R? (S being for SWIM, of course)

I'm double posting this -- hoping for some help/advice:

I have a trainer question for you'all.

I have 650cc tires. I bought a Cycleops Fluid 2 trainer a year ago, not really thinking about the size of my tires.

I'm bending my L bolt out of shape beyond recognition. My husband has had to bend it back into shape three times now. He told me this last time that he won't be able to bend it back again.

I've read their material and looked at their instructional videos, and I haven't found anything that mentions a size requirement for the tires. Nevertheless, I think the problem is the small size of my tire. I really have to crank the resistance to get it tight enough.

I saw that the Kinetic has an adapter for their trainer for 650 tires. But I've found nothing for the Cycleops. I can't find 650 training tires.

So, what do I do? If anyone can point me in the direction of a solution, I'd appreciate it.

(Sorry if my cycling vocabulary is wrong -- I did the best I could to explain my problem. Embarassed)

You should contact Cycleops - I've heard great things about their customer service and they will probably solve the problem way more effectively than my 0.02 worth!

I didn't want to run, but I did it anyway.  It was only 15 minutes, but at least I did it.  Hopefully that counts for something.

Marathon training starts on the 14th!  Looking forward to it

I'm the same if I'm not in an actual training plan as such I find it hard to get motivated....

Its November 1--I have 16 days left til the Spartan Beast (aka, 1/2 marathon in HELL --->said with 'Spartan' Accent from 300....). So time to get serious with my training again! I trained last month, but far less than I should have, and I recorded even less of it. In any case, busy season of zoo events is done, I have a handle on how I need to study, so I can FINALLY get back on track!

I have been following/doing a 100 day burpee challenge---1 on day 1, 2 on day 2, etc... today was day 18--yup, I did my 18. I also went for a bit of a run (still kinda sore from Down and Dirty)--only 2.5 miles, in about 31 minutes...slow, but I don't care about that right now...I just want to get back to feeling decent while running.

'kay, there is my sharing for today--I will try to be more consistent (getting back on track in ALL aspects! See?)Smile

15 minutes running when you didnt really want to is worth at least an hour!  way to get out there.

Good day all, I hope all is well wherever you are. I just read a few pages and am starting to feel caught up now.

Felicia - I agree with Jo, contact Cycle Ops. Any thing bending that shouldn't is not cool. They should point you to a fix pretty quick. I like the updated avatar.

Jo, I like your new avvie as well, but I think it'll be changing after this weekend to include someone else. I'm just guessing on that though. Try not to get in too much trouble, great job on your running lately.

Reece - Nice new pic there as well. And I see some great training going on for you. BTW, did you get the Honey Stingers?

Jen - Great job getting out and running. Good luck with the marathon plan. And the elephant pic was adorable. What a cutie

TJ - Enjoy the HM and have even more fun getting ready for the HIM. And good luck to DS2, it is cool that he is getting more into it.

Kate - That costume is awesome! I know you love the animals, but I'm starting to think that you went into the wrong line of work. Costume making probably doesn't pay much, but wow, can you ever bring the goods!!! Good luck at Spartan Beast.

Adrienne - Really? Every day in rain and 1000 miles between lube jobs?!? You live in Seattle, no? I think you will now have to run very fast and far for your crime against your bike. BTW, I'm with TJ on this "I don't comprehend this rain thing".

Yanti - I like the new avvie. I hope your training is going well and you have not been overdoing it to the point of illness.

OK, I think I'm caught up now. It is time to get to work, although if anyone knows of a company in SWF that is looking for a sys admin/systems analyst/manager sort of person, please let me know.

Enjoy your weekend everyone and I hope all of those on the east coast are safe and sound. Or at least doing the best that can be hoped for.

I don't have a cycleops, soi can only agree with others to contact the company. I do have kinetic and use 650 wheels and don't know anything about an adapter. I don't see anything bending or otherwise causing issues on my bike.
