What is shaking people.

I need some motivation this cold weather is really dragging me down. So is the 15 pounds of winter weight and pour eating..hahaha.

I have hardly worked out since November. It was like 9 degrees F out when I got up this morning.

Hey Chris, I hear ya about the cold, oh and the extra weight!! How you been besides dealing with winter?

Hello TAN gents!

I've been having serious issues with motivation too.  Not being signed up for any races yet this year has made it really hard to keep training... but I'm trying to get back into it with realizing that if I want to do B2B this year, my training plan starts April 1st... and that's not all that far away!  EEEEEEK!

Winter sucks.

You know I just might think about doing the half at B2B

WOOT!!!  Doooooo eeeeeeeeeet!

I'm hoping to beat my last iron distance time by quite a lot... but apparently that will require me to actually be trained for the race as opposed to just gutting it out.

Hmmm I am pretty certain with the knee surgery I can't do a long distance race this year but you never know. I would still like to take on my first HIM at some point.

But I keep being told to play it safe this season and stick to sprint distance for this season.

Well.... B2B is technically not this season for you since it is in October which would be too cold to still be tri season for you!!!  Sooo the half would technically be next season for you.....

Probably wise advice to follow until you have a better idea of how your knee will hold up after your surgery.  Take it easy!

It sounds like I'm in the same boat as some others here... I NEED to get rid of this icky winter poodge.  Ugh.

I like that thought process.

But that also means building up to that distance within this season. I am going to modify my approach to run 2 days a week now instead of 3. One of them will need to be a quality workout as long as it doesn't provide pain. Then I will have to work more on core and cycling and swimming.

I am not going to be able to run as fast so my plan is to become a BEAST on the bike if I can.

Well to be honest it is doable with a run/walk plan as long as you are going for the finish and not the podium.  That is even if you are not a beast on the bike.

yeah that includes you too!!

Flying out of Detroit at 745 thursday morning for Key West... we going drinking?

Damn you.

I am holding up ok. Still recovering from Knee surgery and I have been putting in 2 short runs a week on the treadmill.

I am committing to run on Wed night outside with our running group from the running store. My first group run in 6 months. Testing out the new Garmin 910 I just got.

And I am trying hard to commit to eating good again.

I will be in Florida the end of may I am going down Cave Diving..

Glad to hear you can get some running in, thats promising.  I am super pumped about this florida trip, going to do some snorkeling if I sober up enough at some point... first time I have ever been able to go on the 'guys trip'  This being single really has its perks!

Ok so its not just me... disappearing abs is normal in the winter?

I am hoping that as my training ramps up I will be ready for bikini season this summer...

That is my cave diving trip in May it is all the guys going down to Florida Cave diving. Mind you we will be diving and not drinking a lot until the last couple of days then that seems to start.

I hope you have a great trip.

We are actually starting a Triathlon Club in Chatham and have the facebook page up. Just added my buddy from Sarnia and we will be launching the club soon. I was lucky enough to get elected as secretary to the BOD for it.. or you could say no one else was enough of a sucker for the job.
