Linda,  I just looked at the results and the chick who beat you out of the water had a one second faster time. Next time don't be a lady and take her out on the beach!   Linda's swim time was 32:31, 2nd fastest woman!  Way to go!!!!

yeah unless I decide to smoke some crack and try Savageman HIM instead. 

My thoughts were to do an early season HIM (Lonestar) and late season HIM (Augusta)

Read some good reviews so far over on ST.  Looks like some folks thought there were a few logistical issues but IMO that is to be expected for a first time race.  Everyone has raved about the course.  Great bike and 2 loop run where spectators could see you 8 times in 13 miles if they wanted to.

Working on my report from yesterday.

Ha...I was actually first out of the water but stopped to mess with my wetsuit and she crossed the timing mat ahead of me    The  swim was cool, we swam stroke for stroke the entire way...even breathing toward each other every 6th stroke.  It was fun!  BTW...she was 24 yrs old.  If I had started sooner having kids this could have been a mother/ daughter swim.  Ok, I feel old!

I too may do Augusta next year.   Actually thought about it for this year, but couldn't pull off the trip with the kids  schedule(s).  Could Augusta be the second SWBKRUN MG function?   Of course, Longhorn is the first 

Gotta go run, then I'll finish my report.

I need an ear.  Some friends of ours 17 year old son drove drunk over the weekend and killed a 28 yo woman. Her passenger is unlikely to make it either.  The kid is in the hopsital and will face charges as an adult when he gets out. The parents have curfews for their kids, make them call to check in when they are out and are strict.  I abhore what the kid did, but I really feel for the parents.  Simply awful for both families.

Sorry to hear that Suzy.  Tough one, as I know when I was that age I did a lot of things that could have ended up the same way so really feel for the kid and his parents.

That is so frustrating.  Sounds like the parents are good parents and the kid made some bad decisions!  So sad.  Sorry !

Ride was great... Late start (to warm up a little) and did the May Valley Loop (w/ the Tiger Mtn Loop added on).  We also stopped by the Salmon Hatchery in Issaquah as well!  That was pretty amazing how many fish (and the size of them) were there!!

I was just going to comment on how awesome your pictures were.  Now, I must clarify. 
The hiking pictures were incredible, the blisters not so much    Those things have got to hurt...heal up

Suzy, I am so sorry to hear this.  His parents sound like me and my DH.  You do everything you can to keep them safe, but one bad decision can change their whole life.  You're right - it's just awful for both families involved.

Hey guys - sounds like there were some great races over the weekend!  Looking forward to reading the race reports. 

I had what turned out to be a pretty good run on Saturday afternoon, even though I got soakedSmile.  After we got home from my daughter's XC meet it was pouring down rain so I decided to get some other things done and go out for my run after it let up some.  When I finally got out, it was still a little cloudy but didn't look too bad.  After about 1-1/2 miles I noticed the wind picking up and some really dark clouds in the direction I was heading.  Smart thing to do would have been to turn around and do my run in the other direction where it was still sunny, but of course, I didn't do that.  I headed right into the coming storm.  When I got to the turnaround point and started heading back, I knew I was going to get wet - no way I could outrun it.  I was hoping it would just be a light shower, but no such luck.  It poured on me for about 10 minutes.  I'm sure all the cars driving by thought I was nuts, lol!  At one point I could barely see where I was going due to all the rain running into my eyes but on this stretch of the route there is no place to go for shelter so I didn't have much choice other than to keep going.  It didn't last long though and was actually the best part of my runSmile.

Augusta huh?  Not sure if I'll be ready for that.  But Jarrett's family has a cool lake house about an hour away.  Good excuse to make it that way. 

I love running in the rain.

btw Linda.  I heard that wise man handing out riding in the rain advice is really good looking....but very humble.
