I ran 40 minutes at the gym, could have gone longer but for some reason I never want to. Hahahahaha. I've had such a crappy day, nothing bad in general, just a lot of small things all at once. I'm so buggered off about this olympic training plan....argh. I cannot do all the things on it PLUS have a life I guess. It's ticking me off, mostly because I'm at work 12 hours a day and then I have to come home after the gym and do housework etc because I have a husband that just plainly refuses to help out with things, even on his days off. He doesn't know that on Saturday's when he works all I do mostly is clean house. I just want it to be nice because I like it that way. Sigh. I've been upset all bloomin day like a big child.
Sorry, I should have blogged all this mush!!! I am going to up my mileage again if that's ok, to 20. It's only half way through (almost) and I'm already at 10. I ran 40 minutes but only got 2.66 miles. I'm disappointed in that. I don't know how fast I should be running in order to better myself these days.........pants. I've had the same experience. I can't run a 12 minute mile on a treadmill, but I can consistently run 11 minute outside. Something about the treadmill just makes it so much harder to run. Try getting outside and see if that makes you feel any better. |

I'm kinda a data junkie, so I LOVE my Garmin Forerunner 305. |

I LOVE my garmin 305, and I got it for $160 on amazon.com. You may find a good deal on ebay, too, especially since the 405 is coming out soon. It works on bike or run, you can set your hr zones on it, it gives you a really cool graph of elevation, hr, pace, etc. And there are lots of cool training things I haven't tried yet. And you can have it auto pause for stopping at lights etc. If you run on a treadmill you can get a foot thingy, altho you don't need it since the treadmill gives you distance and pace and time. You can turn the gps off and just use the hr monitor. I have a garmin 101, too, which is fine but it doesn't do hr or plug into the computer. |

I am hoping for nice and warm weather too OK...After 30 years working in a fire station you have no idea how I am going to take the high road here and not do any more to that sentence than I already have. With the people in this group I will guarantee that we could have the thread shut down by supper time. |
