Today, I am officially old.  I woke up generally stiff in the joints, but really tweaked my shoulder while simply reaching into my closet.  Now, I can barely turn my head, and I had to bail out of the lane at my tri club swim this morning.  Finished up with a few very easy-paced 100s so I could post a mile swim.  I feel like a geezer.

It's probably because of the cookie

I hope you are all happy with yourselves--today, I had a cookie.  A chocolate cookie.  Conveniently, I do not blame myself, because clearly all of you GS cookie posters are the root of the problem. (Thank you all for providing me with a convenient way to transfer blame for my lack of self control.  Have a great day!)

Happy to help!Innocent

But then this mean we also get the credit for the awesome month of training too, right!!!????  And, why did you only have ONE chocolate cookie.  I think at least two are in order.

Got my slow 6 miles in, unlike some of you who were feeling good, mine wasn't much fun.  I watched The Biggest Loser while on the treadmill because of the rain.  But, I usually watch that show at night while enjoying a bowl of ice cream, so that's a victory!

You got it done!  and way better than I did. I got barely one mile out before the shins (and my spirit) gave out. Crud.

Thank goodness I was able to limit myself to one.  Fortunately(?) I was in a fancy schmancy bakery and I couldn't afford another cookie.  LOL, I'm down to pocket change today.

Yum... chocolate! I have to go to an office birthday thingy in 15 minutes. I'm hoping for something chocolatey!

We had two birthdays at work today and there are two cakes.  Both very yummy.  Glad that I swam and biked before work today.

And Friday is going to be tough with a goodbye lunch of pizza and cake.  I'm bringing a salad (and the cake).

Just over 30 miles on the bike this evening. My legs are a bit like jell-o now, but it felt good to be outside.

I'm taking tomorrow off as a birthday present to myself and will be going for a nice, low-key, no stress trail ride. There's a chance of rain and I'm going regardless but it would be nice to ride dry. Tomorrow evening we're going to a play. I get my "real" birthday dinner on Friday (taking that off, too, but need to swim).

I took my bike out for a 15 minute ride today.  There is a 4 mile loop that runs along the water and has wide shoulders. It is all right turns and only one not busy stop sign.  It's a favorite time trial course for the locals.  Did one loop today and practiced feeling steady in aero.  I felt like I was going fast at least.

Some of the "locals" in my town include the woman's Kona AG winner in 40-44 and the owner of FuelBelt, also a Kona athlete. They are pretty amazing to see whizzing around town.

I was supposed to lift tonight, but I just wasn't feeling it.  So I'm taking today as a rest day instead.  I think I should be able to lift instead of run tomorrow evening. . . I had a speed session planned tomorrow, but I just realized I'm doing a 5k race on Sunday, so maybe I can count that as my speed workout for the week.  Which means I'm free tomorrow night to make up for today's missed workout.
