dalessit - 2009-10-01 9:47 AM So today is our 15 year anniversary, does that make us old?

15 year gift is Carbon fiber right?

Old? Not at all.  Congratulations on hitting a milestone in marriage!  That's awesome!

Why yes it is.  So shall I expect to see my pretty pink carbon fiber Planet X at home tonight?  Or at least a pretty pink diamond, hummm?

But alas, back to real world - I think we will be settling for 2 entries to the Ironman 70.3 Lonestar triathlon.  LOL

cbarnes1 - 2009-09-30 9:33 PM I second the Oomph Compression Shorts.  I just bought a pair for B2B and LOVE them!  They are now sitting beside my bed waiting for race day!  5 1/2 weeks

Holy Crap Chet!  I didn't need to hear that!!    Nervous!!   Good thing I have a 16 mile run tonight and 10 this weekend!    See you soon!!!

Tony and Sam, Happy Anniversary!!  We will have a birthday and anniversary to celebrate on Saturday.  Fun Times!

My September numbers suck!!!  It is awful that my bike numbers are larger than my run!  I am suppose to be marathon training!  I am going to chalk up last month of 2 weeks with a sinus infection - yhea - sure- that is why my running was so bad.  But as Chet said, I've got 5 1/2 weeks to get ready!!

September's totals:
Bike:7h 16m 40s  - 121.66 Mi
Run:9h 00m 43s  - 51.54 Mi
Swim:3h 09m 08s  - 9650 Yd
Strength:2h 00m

My September numbers are really low, but with the taper before my HIM and the recovery afterwards I am not suprised.  You will not see the running or biking increase much in 4Q either....everything is short in duration and high intensity.  Not compalining though....the new me.

Bike:18h 12m 22s  - 318.3 Mi
Run:14h 17m 49s  - 96.2 Mi
Swim:13h 39m 22s  - 28240 Yd
Strength:2h 50m

Congrat Sam and Tony.  And as the resident old fart of the group you are both still young. Paul and I have been married for 20 going on 40 years.

As a side note, it is October 1st, right?  Texas must follow a different calendar.  I know people in the South are slow, but come on......

Happy anniversary guys!

Great Numbers everyone!

Got an email from Keith.  Lone Star registration will open at noon today.  He lives up in Austin and the race is, obviously, here so I'm thinking this is Central Time.

I think it opens at noon, at least that is what Sam sent me, I looked and can't find that listed anywhere so not sure if that is noon EST or what.

Helps if I read the e-mail that I got also...

From the RD

Hey Everyone!

We’ve got Longhorn Ironman 70.3 still to come, and we’re fired up. But, remember, registration for the 2010 events opens at Noon TODAY, OCTOBER 1st!!!!!!

The first event for 2010 will be the LONE STAR TRIATHLON FESTIVAL in Galveston, TX, April 23-25, 2010. We’ve got BIG NEWS!!!!!, The Lone Star Half is now Ironman 70.3 Lone Star, a qualifier for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3! There will be 50 slots available, and a $30,000 prize purse. With the road on the other side of San Luis Pass fixed after Hurricane Ike 2 years ago, we’ve also got approval for a one loop bike course for the Ironman 70.3.

On top of that, the Quarter Iron will now be a true Olympic distance, with a 1.5K swim, 40K bike, and 10K run, and it’ll be on Saturday along with the Sprint. Lots of great stuff for 2010. The races will fill quickly, so we recommend registering early for it.

If you plan to stay at Moody Gardens Hotel, we recommend booking there immediately. It fills fast!!!! We also highly recommend the Inn at the Waterpark for convenience. It’s within walking distance of transition, and a great place for family. To register and for more info on Lone Star, go to www.ironmanlonestar.com

just back from the pool.  entering my times.  check it out.  4 x 300 at or above sprint pace.

set.
1. 1:36 / 100
2. 1:38 / 100
3. 1:35 / 100
4: forgot to time. ;-)

this is by far my hardest w/o to date.  i detest nothing more in life than thinking about having to do the next set while trying to catch my breath at the wall.  what a great feeling entering those times in my log.

the first set is the hardest.  the third set is the "funnest".

thanks for reading!

Just a quick note to everyone...have a great weekend.

We are heading to Gatlinburg tomorrow for the last baseball tourney of the year!  We have an 8 bedroom cabin that'll sleep 24 people with two hot tubs, two grills, and two bars, two pool tables, and 17 TV's.  It's going to be rough.Wink

September's totals:
Bike:16h 12m  - 279.5 Mi
Run:12h 09m  - 66.7 Mi
Swim:3h 32m  - 11263 Yd

Over the next few months, I am planning on icreasing the run number significantly.  Will try to maintain a little fitness on the bike, and let the swim suffer a bit.

Jeremy...cool about the masters swim.  I will have to give credit to my masters group, as I feel as if I have come a LONG way in a year due to the group.  I think you will enjoy the motivation.

Since we are discussing shorts,  my Desoto Forza'a were awesome this weekend.  Almost like running naked...never knew I had them on, and they were way more comfortable than my cycliing bibs.

Dude, I am so glad I started an hour in front of you in Augusta.
