kkcbelle - 2010-09-08 1:58 PM Lots of racers!!! Good luck to all! Can't wait to read the RRs when you are done!!

Suzy, my very best advice is just to enjoy the day. Every minute. The good and the bad. Remember that the goods are nothing if you don't have bads to back them up and reflect upon. Every experience can be a story. The good and the bad. Every moment will be a memory. The good and the bad. The day is yours, you worked hard to get there, you paid your money, you put in your work, and now you get to reap all of your rewards. Sunday is a gift. Your body is a gift. Your mind is a gift. Your opportunity is a gift. Be thankful for all that you have been given.

And race your little ginormous heart out!!!

Lastly, my mantra during my day when things really sucked... FORWARD PROGRESS. Each step you take brings you one step closer to the finish. Forward progress.

I would echo everything that Kyla just said, except I had to change that one "little" thing...
Beautifully said, Kyla!

Ok, people I can now officially say Dineen is totally whacked!  The run course is the toughest one I have ever done, including Boston.  The 10% grade hills made me cry (well, not really.  They made me walk!)....if he pulls off an 8:00 pace, I promise to run the last 5K of IM.  Dino, don't let me down....wonder what that means??? Undecided

1st off this is true, I am surprised it has taken you guys this long to figure that out!  Slow group?  Laughing

2ndly-  You will run that last 5K no matter my time (although I am ready!).  I know how hard you have trained and how ready you are for this race and running has always been your strength.  If nothing else, I know the cowbells will keep you going!!!  Wink

My only advice is to thoroughly enjoy your day. There will be times that are hard and times that make you question yourself but overall you know there will not be a better feeling than completing your triathlon. Remember to smile crossing that finish line.

Good luck to all our MG racers.

Garmin 305/HRM question:

So, I love the new Garmin "premium" soft heart rate strap.  I was able to do a reset with my Garmin 500 so it would read and recognize the new heart rate strap,  but cannot figure it out for the 305.   Silly me, I thought it would be similar, but nothing I have tried is working.  Any ideas?

That should do it.

HAHA no worries, I couldn't find my HR strap a few weeks ago so I had to borrow Sams, had to figure out how to get hers to work with my watch, so I had to look it up.

Apparently I have contacted spastic-itis. Early in the week I tripped going up the stairs and banged my right knee. No bruise, but it still hurts a little. I couldn't put my hands out to catch myself because that would have meant dropping the can of soda I was carrying, and my wife would have hurt me for that.

Then yesterday AM I was getting the paper and smashed my left foot on the stairs to the garage. Not sure how I managed that, but now my the middle toe on my left foot is doing a great impression of a heavy metal band...Deep Purple. Wife says "you broke it." However, I ran 6.2 miles on it last night with no ill effects.

Hopefully this is not one of those bad things come in threes things, as I have two races in the next 17 days.

Have a good day and lets be careful out there people (Hill Street Blues Reference).

Maybe you are pregnant.  I ran into things all the time when I was pregnant.  Of course walls still jump in my way so maybe I can't use that excuse. Sometimes I am amazed I am coordinated enough to ride a bike. Tongue out

One of my bosses always knew she was pregnant because things kept slipping threw her hands!!!  Not sure that works for Doug, though....

Did my final swim and my final run and both went so well I thought I might be dreaming!  Off to register in a bit....WOW, WOW, WOW, this is really going to happen.
