Wow, I think I might be the only person going into this sans plan.  Well, I will be in a few weeks once Jorge's winter cycling program ends.

I'm doing the Ironfit 30 week plan. Have been a little short on training duration so far but this is my busy time of year for work. Am getting more excited daily, can't wait for spring to arrive.

24 weeks.

I started my 24 week plan today, with a rest day. Not a very auspicious way of starting.

I'm using the level 4 of Fitzgerald's Ironman training plans as a base. I intend to keep the weekly intent of the workouts the same but I'll have to move the daily workouts around to deal with my work schedule.

Still dealing with some knee issues from my skiing accident last month. Its not really affecting any of my workouts but I still have a major overall lack of lateral stability/strength in it.  I have an appointment later this week with medical to evaluate the need for physical therapy.

I am chomping at the bit for the winter weather to end so I can finally log some long bike miles.  I'm headed to Florida for spring break in 2 weeks with about a dozen of my teammates.  Some of us plan to ride as much as we can while we're there.

I'm in Vegas and plan to rent a road bike to ride today.  High will be in the 50s which seems really warm. I haven't been outside on a bike for almost 2 months.

Carl and Kathy - That sounds awesome. I'm jealous!

The only riding I've done outside lately is commuting to work everyday through downtown DC traffic! I'm planning on doing the Spinervals Lake Placid DVD this weekend! :-

Happy Friday everyone.  Yeah, so I was thinking Thursday, July 21st, at 7:30  AM we'll all meet at Mirror Lake (the little beach part across from the tennis courts) for a BT Group Pic?  And then we'll all swim a lap?  Is it too early too plan?

Never too early to plan, but that's too early for me to meet. I am driving up from Philly on Thursday

Okay, maybe we'll push the "BT Mirror Lake Meeting" back to late-morning Friday.  I think we have a little time to fine-tune the exact time.

Hey, it's 15 degrees in Lake Placid right now!  It's warming up!!

Last three Ironman's I've done we have had a standard time to meet up at swim in the days leading up the race. The day that most folks make it is 2 days before the race which would be Friday.

I'll likely swim Thursday and Friday morning. I like to meet and visit first then swim.

The BT swim meet ups is often the only time we actually meet some of our on line friends. We have in the past organized meals as well.  Something like everyone interested meet at Lake Placid Brew Pub day after the race at noon.

I got outside yesterday on the bike for over 2 hours. It was 38 degrees with some wind. Not too bad. I was mostly warm, except for my feet which were solid blocks of concrete by the end of the ride. Not the fastest ride, but my sit bones had no issues and climbing hills wasn't that hard for the first outdoor ride. I felt strongest by the end. I guess I have had a good transition from 6 weeks of indoor trainer to outdoors this year. Unfortunately full time out doors riding is 6 weeks away still

Fingers crossed it continues to get warmer and stays dry from here on out!

I've been looking for the elevation gain on the IMLP bike course.

I've seen various numbers thrown around. Here on BT the route tracker is often way off.

I've done some google searching and haven't found it. Anyone know?

Not sure if the elevation profile is for the 2010 course or for the original course. And not sure where or how they got those numbers. I'll take it.

I'm looking for actual feet climbing a number. I asked Fred at same time and he said it was about 6000 feet of climbing for both loops.

I did a ride in Nevada this week that I climbed 2600 feet in 16-17 miles and trying to do a little comparison.
