jmdraughn - 2012-08-01 8:48 AM Is anyone doing the Welcome Dinner Banquet.  If so does anyone know what is on the menu for the event.  I will have my wife and kids with me and wonder how long it last and if there is anything to keep an 11 and 9 year old attention.

I know we had to purchase tickets in advance in 2010 for the Banquet but I have not seen where to get them yet. I keep telling my family that the menu is as follows

Pasta bread pasta pasta bread pasta cake.

I will have my 5 year old with me and I sure he will be board within a few minutes. haha

There is a place to buy them online through the Ironman Louisville website.

Here you go. From what I've read, since it is after July 31st, instead of registering at Active.com, you would need to go through the website itself. I didn't see a link to registration on their webpage but they do have a "contact us" link which may help you to register.

I bought my tickets already - and I'll have my 6 & 8 yr old with. Does anyone know if the food is catered by the Galt House? I'm hoping the food is better than the bland Lake Placid banquet food.

I don't think it is hosted by the Galt House. The banquet will be at the KICC (same place we get our bags after the race).  The food is not so good

I'm not sure who caters it, but rest assured, it will be bland.

Although I think that it is generally a pro's number. From "the rules"

If you draw race number 13, turn it upside down. Paradoxically, the same mind that holds such control over the body is also woefully fragile and prone to superstitious thought. It fills easily with doubt and is distracted by ancillary details. This is why the tape must always be perfect, the machine silent, the kit spotless. And, if you draw the unlucky Number 13, turn it upside down to counter-act its negative energy.

I have my own numbering kit (from tritats.com - cool stuff). I think the standard is both arms have the race number and the left calf has the age. Does this sound correct?
