turtlegirl - 2013-01-04 4:34 PM Sorry it's attack of the iPhone. My computer is on the fritz. And yes. Hence my thinking that there is something very wrong here. Showers me with gifts then doesn't try anything. Abbie said "I'm a beard" heh.

Could he be gay?  I'm not being a smart .  This is just weird.  Honestly, doesn't make sense.  Why bother going on dates?  Isn't moving around the bases part of the goal?

Have you asked him outright?  Or maybe you should just take the initiative and make a move.  Grab his hand - move in for a kiss...maybe after the ice is broken, he will turn into an animal.

LOL "beard" = gay.  No physical contact after 4 dates...something's missing

I just learned something new.

Me too, now I need to figure out how to work that into a conversation! This is almost as good as when I learned what fapping meant. My ex has banned my boys and I from using that word in her presence. Which, of course, means we use it every chance we get.

Awesome. Good on ya. Now to urban dictionary I go...

It is exactly what I suspected it might be.

And now you've learned two things this week

It has been a good week.

nerdjock - 2013-01-05 12:40 AM What's wrong with the chick making the first move?  I've been known to do it.  Don't see the point in waiting for him to do it.  If you want to, then do.  Some guys just get nervous.

Nothing wrong with it at all.  Depends on the guy, gal, situation.  For me .. I don't like passive, nervous or shy men.  It's a big turn off for me.  Confidence is the most attractive quality a man can have.  When it's lacking I am not going to make up for it by making the first move for them.  Been there done that .. never gets better.

LOL - this made me laugh

Mmmhmmm!  I've yet to meet the shy guy that with one magical first kiss from me changed into Prince Charming and suddenly became a confident man.  They've all remained frogs .. I don't want to kiss anymore frogs .. they taste funny!

The date went very well.  She is into fitness - what more could a guy want?

Seriously though, it was a great date.  We met at one of my favorite parks for running - ran 5.5 miles and finished at a cool sandwich shop where we had lunch.  Very low key, but the conversation was great and we agreed to a 2nd date.  Most likely will be going wine tasting this weekend!

Just got done texting / flirting and Date 2 is official - Thursday night dinner at a place she chose that "has a great wine selection."

Pretty stoked.

We are stoked for you!

So when you first start dating someone and you know you're having some wine... do you order a bottle? I've been on more than one date where the guy ordered a whole bottle and I was kind of surprised, but then again a bottle is just over 4 glasses total.

Just curious what everyone else thinks/does.

I have never ordered wine by the glass when i was dating or now with my girlfiend when we go out dinning.

I have to admit that i'm a wine snob but normally the selection available by the glass is pretty limited and not the best quality.  Also those have the biggest markup.

I'd say it depends on where you are and how long you expect to be there.

I try to stick with ordering by the glass so I can limit myself to one drink.  I'm a lightweight and with a bottle on the table, I go over my limit.

Not sure - I don't usually order wine.  I'll leave it to her - see if she is going to try and get me drunk and take advantage of me (I hope)..

*BTW - I'm not one of those guys that doesn't make the first move, but the wine selection and quantity will be up to her.

Hi all!

So glad I stumbled upon this thread...it was a highly entertaining way to spend some post-spin class time this morning. Laughing

Entertaining because I completely sympathize... Oh online dating...

Good luck, all!
