Here's something to spice up Monday afternoon. Got a reply email from Superman. 2 weeks after I sent it.
He thinks we are too much alike and wouldn't balance each other out, but would be an interesting conversation to have.

WTF.

He's laying down the groundwork for NOT getting serious before you even start the conversation.

I think this is the third time I have said this.

It's not you, it's him and he's NOT interested in anything serious.  If he was, he woudl be chasing you down.  If you want that, move on.  If you are happy with bootie calls, stick it out.

Why is he named superman anyway?  Seems far from super to me.  Mediocreman.

He wore a Superman t-shirt out to a bar once - under a zip hoodie I think. I casually mentioned it in TAN and everyone jumped on it like whoa.

I hear you. It's just discouraging. Does a number on my self-confidence and such.

Really?  It would have ended before it started in my book.  Don't like hipster/retro T's OR Hoodies.

I have a Denver Bronco hoodie and I LOVE the Denver Broncos.  Just won't wear it because, well, it's a hoodie.  Maybe around the house.

Hoodies make me feel like someone is sneaking up behind me or feels weird to me.  Just that feeling of "something going on back there" I can't put my finger on.

Kido - 2012-08-20 5:28 PM I know there's not much of an audience here BUT, someone give me a dinner idea that I can make.  I don't know what I'm in the mood for or what to make...
What do you have in the fridge and what type/style do you like?

Nothing.  Just back from a mini vaca so the fridge is empty.  I was going to pick up items on the way home.

Easy, pick up a roasted chicken, some baby new potatoes or other small spud and some green veggie stuff.

Wash the potatoes and chop to bite size pieces, place in bowl and toss olive oil, and seasoning to taste, transfer to sheet pan and bake in oven at 350 for about 15 min then toss and cook another 5-10 (can also be done in pan on grill with inderect heat (why add extra heat in the house now) while potatoes cook steam the green stuff.  Quarter the chix and reheat on grill or oven as needed.  this should give you at least dinner and lunch or 2x dinners.  Oh and don't forget a glass of wine or beer.

Or there is delivery...

Hah, that's exactly the reaction TAN had with retro t-shirts and how absolutely AWFUL that was and what a reflection on him as a person that must be.

Not to go all defensive, but I've known the guy for 15 years. He's actually quite stylish, despite the Superman T-shirt and hoodie he wore to a baseball game before coming to the bar that night...

I can't decide ...  Kettlebells or crossfit tonight?

Crossfit!  Not that I've done either, but it looks more fun.

Damn .. should have checked the workout before I asked .. okay.  I'll do it but will most likely have something to say to you tomorrow about my legs.

For Time:
10 Snatches R+L
20 Thrusters R+L
30 Hand Release Burpees
40 American Swings
50 Pullover Sit-ups (26/18)

I never thought I would be so much in the dark ages with fitness related stuff.  I know what a 400 m run and kettleball snatches are.  I can guess on pullover sit-ups.  I suspect Nancy is not a human.

I'd opt for the long slow run if it was me. That sounds like no fun.

blueyedbikergirl - 2012-08-20 1:57 PM I hate Mondays.

I too will hate this Monday you speak of.  Even though it is just like any other day in my world!

Monday's seem worse than the other days of the week - mainly because for 2 whole days I get to be with people all day and then Monday comes along and all those people go back to work.  Then I'm alone at home not wanting to go out cuz if I don't go out then I don't spend any money.

Sigh.

That's my Mon thru Friday.  I can play with my friends after 5 during the week and on the weekends .. but during the day nobody is around and I am lonely and bored and want to eat ... I try and do the outside errands junk early when it's only 90 degrees ... and I've started watching a lot of independent films on the Netflix in the afternoon when it's super hot out and while I watch I make tiny origami swans to keep my hands busy and not shove food in my face.

And THAT right there makes me sound crazy ... sigh.

This is pretty much how I am too (minus the origami swans, I do crossword or jigsaw puzzles to keep my hands busy and away from food stuffing into my face things), it just seems like Mondays are the worst out of the weekdays. Blah!!

It's "kinda" fun!  I decided to kettlebell it ... only because it's 101 degrees out and I don't really want to run in that.

I forgot the heat factor. Have as much fun as you can!

I love hoodies in the fall and spring. In London it was always fall or spring weather and I wore them lots. Unfortunately in London a `hoodie' is a bad person, tantamount to a `thug' here in the U.S., so when I wore my hoodies people alwasy thought I was a bad guy. And I wore them usually on my way to baseball practice or our games, so I was lugging a baseball bat or two as well.

Because of baseball players in hoodies!? We're scary when we wear hoodies?
