1941 , Vermont | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open Well, it’s the eve before IMLP.. which I was supposed to do. I deferred to 2019 and most training slowed waaaay down. 2 months ago I was riding 3.5+ hours, running up to 10 miles and now... nothing. So I’m starting all over again and that’s okay. I signed up for IMMT 70.3 next June and will be confirming my IMLP 2019 deferral when that comes due. For this summer, I’ve just got too much on my plate through the end of August so I’m thinking maybe a half marathon in the fall? This week I finally got more than one workout in. I did some squats and lunges with one of my boys (could hardly walk the next day), then did a body combat class, then spin class and today I ran 3 miles on my overnight tonight. Gretchen, I did pick up a swim harness. I ended up with the TYR one that goes around the waist. I just got it so when I have a chance to use I’ll report back. Must. Keep. Moving. |

I went mainly because i want to practice sighting, which really came together during the second half. I hope to go back next Thursday. That practice will certainly pay off! 25 SBR - you are a machine! |

Expert 4269 | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open Originally posted by sandishr Had a lovely run last night!! Nice 4 miler despite a meager exercise week. I was finally starting to feel like the injury was healing and looking forward to a swim this morning. Snort. Get back from my run, husband calls and we arrange to go out to dinner when he gets home. He walks in door, is there for five minutes or less when I see in the kitchen that the dog (who had emergency surgery on his foot over the weekend to address a wound that wasn't healing) has pulled his bandage off. Fortunately, my vet is open till late, and since I pay their mortgage they fit me in for a quick bandage change. Got home and the nice dinner turns into a quick bite at the pub (and a pitcher of well deserved beer). Settle in for the night with a glass of wine and a good book, when the above dog's mother literally....dislocates her toe on a blade of grass. I'm off to the ER and home at 2am. Dog is still at the ER getting splinted overnight. Because I'm attempting to get in a swim and actually get to work, I ask my housesitter (who now has to tend to two dogs in casts...who the hell besides me has two dogs in casts???) to pick up the dog at the ER. Which she does. As she drives up to my house and I am preparing to leave, she manages to drive my van into her car. It's a good thing this is the Beer Drinker's Appreciation Society and I can safely tell all of you that I fully intend to appreciate as many beers tonight as I can get down me. Planning a run tomorrow and a bike on Sunday. Next week our temps are climbing and I'm going to focus on doing OWS daily. Short sessions starting at 8 minutes at a time and just increasing by 1-2 minutes a day. I think I can add those to runs and bikes. Good work everyone. Have a great weekend! Sandi You've earned some good luck! Enjoy those beers! |

Expert 4269 | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open It's Sunday and I got my walk in and then some. I had planned to get in a 3 mile walk but ended up walking almost 5 miles. While I haven't worked on my diet - I am pleased by my workout streak for the week - 5 workouts in 6 days. Hopefully, I will be able to sustain this streak of working out. This week, I'm going to work on my diet to see if I can eat a little better. I'm not sure what that will look like since it's my last week of vacation and my friend is coming to the cottage but I'm going to try to work on it in some way. Hope everyone had a good weekend! DQ |

Those blades of grass can be dangerous! DQ - I actually didn't drink all weekend, until a couple glasses of wine last night And you will get there! I loved hearing that your son reminded you of the CLP and motivated you to get out there! Keep up the great work. Let me know if you want to talk diet offline. I'd be happy to discuss what you're currently doing and see what small changes you can focus on to start! Jenn, welcome back! Sometimes a break can be a good thing for your body. Glad you are gearing up again! Gretchen, we are going to need to see a picture of this shed at the end to admire your hard work! |

2126 Baltimore, Maryland | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open My best friend was visiting this weekend and I had a busy day of lessons and studying yesterday so I didn't get a workout in Saturday or Sunday. I did see TLC perform on Friday night, which was pretty awesome It's been really rainy and gross here all weekend and my volleyball playoffs tonight were cancelled, so I think I'm going to try to go to a class at the gym this evening, but it depends on how much I get done at work today, as I have a quiz due tonight for my Anatomy and Physiology class. |

Member 3143 Carbondale, Illinois | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open July SBR: 29 Fantastic swim workout this morning. 2600m with lots of different stuff thrown in there. Our coach is on vacation this week, so one of the old dudes who has been swimming twice as long as I've been alive (literally, he is 85 and has been swimming competitively since he was five) coached the slow lanes. Driving down to Knoxville, TN for a meeting this afternoon, so I'm planning for an hour run once I get there to shake out the road stiffness (six hour drive). |

Member 3143 Carbondale, Illinois | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open Here is the shed! It still needs another coat of paint and the trim paint cut in (ugh--hours standing on a ladder trying not to get paint anywhere it shouldn't be!), but I started moving stuff into it last night. Hopefully it will help my garage disaster a little! It is 12X20' (for scale) Edited by drfoodlove 2018-07-23 8:26 AM (IMG_1420.JPG) Attachments ---------------- IMG_1420.JPG (151KB - 3 downloads) |

Expert 4921 Middle River, Maryland | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open Hey, everyone (and welcome back DQ!!!!)...been traveling for work and vacation. We went to Williamsburg, VA for a few days and it was awesome. I rode roller coasters for three days and paid the price for it. LOL I've been at it pretty hard this month, only missed one day since June 28th. Yesterday I hiked five miles and then rode the trainer for an hour watching the British Open. I've also been trying to do 10-15 of core work every day. I think the volume is catching up to me, I'm feeling pretty beat down today (but that's only the second time all month I've felt like that). Need Advil. The weather here went from rain all of June, no rain at all first three weeks of July, then the Great Flood 2.0, so nothing outside planned for now. My daughter and I plan on swimming this afternoon but I might push that to tomorrow. I feel like I could use a day off. |

Expert 4269 | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open After a day in Traverse City (anyone ever been up there?), I came home and forced myself to do a quarter mile in the lake. Surprisingly, I felt pretty strong compared to my first swim last week when I really struggled. Tomorrow I'm back to biking and I'm hoping to do another hill workout. Today I stopped for a beer at the Right brained brewery and they had two beers I especially liked - an apple pie beer and a cheery pie beer. Both were made with over 40 pie each. It was so fricking good. Cheers people |

Member 3143 Carbondale, Illinois | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open Hahahaha!!! I have thought of it being a pain cave!!! Actually, what I think might happen is that I’m going to move all the stuff we are storing in our garage and make half the garage into a pain cave, since my truck won’t fit on “my side” anyway. At the very least my dirty clothes drying rack is going out in the newly (kinda) empty garage. My wife hates the sweaty nasty clothes hanging in the bathroom. Sandi—not a kit. My dad and I built it from scratch. It was really fun to work with him again. |

2126 Baltimore, Maryland | Subject: RE: 2018 Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Always Open Gretchen that is really impressive. I wish I had those handy skills. I get nervous thinking about hanging a picture in my house. It's a goal of mine to become more handy (and have confidence in my handy-ness). Slept through my alarm this morning and missed my swim workout. I have an exam this weekend and have lots of studying so won't be able to make it to the gym tonight either. Back at it tomorrow morning I guess |
