owl_girl - 2007-12-13 7:24 PM I got another good swim in today.  More weird stuff at the pool.  This time I shared the pool with the Coast Guard.  They were practicing rescues with their blow-up thingys and some of them were swimming laps next to me with their full gear on.  Fun to watch and lots of eye candy!!!!

Say, where exactly do you swim?  What days do they practice there? 

That sounds soooooooooooo much better than swim stroke tai chi man.

Boy it is quiet around here. Either way it's Friday and i hope everyone has a good weekend but make sure you get your swim in.

I'm hitting the pool tonight and I'm planning on giving an updated status on the team in the morning so we all know where we stand.

By the way I bought some new running gear last night as a Christmas present to myself and ran last night. Wow, what a difference the right gear makes when you run in the cold.

San Diego? Cold? You don't know cold! 

BTW, Nicole... Are you running with Snowshoes today?  It really bug me when people don't shovel their walks (esp. businesses).

I was wondering how long it would take before someone back east or north said something. LOL  Anything below 60 degrees is cold for us southern California people. LMAO.

We didn't get hit with the northeast storm and today is the calm before the weekend storm; temps were 35 this morning when I ran and hit 50 a little while ago. Tomorrow the "fun" begins: some combination of snow, sleet, rain, and freezing rain depending on how far north or south the storm tracks.

I think it's in Norway where they say "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing." I wouldn't go quite that far, but the right clothing really makes a huge difference. I've comfortably run when temps were in the mid to high teens. I do quit riding outside when temps get below freezing because of the wind chill factor.

OH MY GOD!!!!!  NASTY!!!!  I'll keep the crickets!!!!

Ok my little Evil Elves here is the status going into the weekend. Remember I will do the final tally early Monday Morning so get your swims in this weekend if your not on track.

Either way good job everyone, your all doing great on your workouts. Also if you do see any miscalculations in your totals let me know.

Yeah it makes it a great motivational tool. I know that before last month I never swam over 7000 meters in one month, maybe not even over 3000 meters actually. Amazingly I'll be swimming well over my challenge goal of 12000 meters because my OLY plan requires it. Hence I'm totally motivated and excited about how far my swimming has come in a short time. 

Thanks for the update, Hector.  I did a very quick swim this morning before the important parts of my day (mani/pedi... oh yeah, and my kid's basketball game ) so I'm up another 400 meters.

What a super fantastic day!!!!  It was WARM!!!!  It wasn't raining!!!!  The wind wasn't blowing!!!!!  I went on an hour long bike ride in my shorts and short sleeves!!!!  How great is that!!!!

I hope everyone else is staying safe in the nasty weather areas!
