I've learned to not pay attention to everyone else (best way to avoid seeing saggy-boob lady who doesn't understand bras do help - also good way to avoid - never shaves lady, or I'm way comfortable with all of me...why aren't you lady)...What I was not prepared for was laid out naked in the sauna lady! Sweating - naked & lying on the bench. Nice...And why is there a sign on the window to the steam room "no shaving in steam room allowed"?..Please, Please don't pull a razor out in there and just shave!!! Ew.

There is one guy at my pool who takes up all the hooks and the little bench thing to put your towel on while you have a shower (communal shower in a public pool) gets buck naked and then has a shave. Odd enough I thought, especially given it's a public pool.
As I struggle to find a gap for my towel I can't help but notice there are 2 electric toothbrushes on the bench.
So I start to shower and am washing my hair when I hear movement and one of the other showers starts up. Then I hear the toothbrush buzz. Turn around to rinse my back and notice there are now no toothbrushes on the bench.
The guy is standing there using 2 toothbrushes at once! Still naked of course. Not offensive really but just damn weird.
Of course I now refer to him as Mr 2 Toothbrushes.

Next week there is a sign up saying something about not removing your swimming costume in the communal areas. Coincidence?

Pinata - 2006-02-07 10:55 AM I was in the locker room a couple weeks ago and a woman was standing there completely naked, with her underpants around her knees putting a maxi pad in her underwear. I didn't really want to see that, go in the bathroom!

EEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!!  Now, I'm a woman and used to dealing with such products, but that is way out of line and disgusting!  Seriously, there are bathroom stalls for a reason!

Then again, it could've been worse!

I have this thought once per month, around the 15th.  Guess when my mortgage pmt is due?

I think I know what he was doing with one toothbrush, but I shudder to think what he was using the second toothbrush for.

On the subject of rubbing lotions on the breasts....I'll admit to having done that. When I was about 19, was a AAA, and thought I needed big knockers to be a "real woman" I slathered up with some cockamamie junk twice a day for months. Turns out I just needed to have patience, as I gained about 30 pounds around age 21, and proceeded to look like an actual person, instead of a coat hanger with a head.

But my worst experience has to be turning round the corner to the showers and seeing a woman sitting right on the floor of the shower, scrubbing away at her privates. I mean, I know that's kind of the point of showering, but whatever happened to standing up? It was just a wee bit alarming. I am definately one of the ones that wanders around in their underwear. I mean, my underwear and my bathing suit look a lot alike, so what's the difference, really?

Sitting on the floor of the public shower? Ew. I won't even go barefoot anywhere around, in, or near the pool or locker room. Ew.

That's just... ew.

Man I got ya'll beat.  At one locker-room on base we had an older guy who would come in and, as mentioned, strip down.  But he would then proceed to do EVERYTHING naked.  All his grooming (including rubbing his package against the sink) and the worst was the stretching... finally one dude went up to him and said he needed to knock that $*** off.  Scarred for life, I was.

Worst image of my life that still scars me to this day: I live in South Florida and used to belong to the Bally's Gym in Ft. Lauderdale. Walked into the shower area just in time to see a guy standing up off of his knees and exit a shower stall, quickly followed by the exit of another guy from the same shower stall. I quit the gym and got a doctors letter to get out of my contract there. I'm certainly no homo-phobe, but that's just not right at the gym.

element - 2006-02-07 10:46 AM Wow...seems like there is a lot of locker room rage going on here. At my gym, many of us who work out in the morning know each other, and even the strangers walked around naked comfortably while we chat, apply lotion, dry hair -- whatever. The people who stick out are the "rude prudes" who wrap themselves up in as many towels as possible, hide behind the curtain in the only private shower stall, and never make eye contact. Give me a break people! It's just a little friendly nudity! What's the big deal? Now, with regard to the gross stuff -- like leaving piles of powder on the floor of peeing in the communal shower -- I'm with you!

So it's not a myth!!!!!  Women really DO just walk around naked in the locker room.

surfwallace - 2006-02-07 12:23 PM  I would just like to say, if I had a pair of breasts, I would rub lotion on them for a very, very long time.

That's why you have a "personal assistant" to practice on.  After 32 years, I think I'm just getting it down to a science.  Excuse me while I find the lotion....

Capt. Dave wins!!! Now if that was the women's locker room we'd be back to turn-ons.

Yeah, our locker room is pretty .. erm.. free. I have the 'plus' membership at the Y, so we have all the swanky towel services and pretty lotions 'n stuff.. but still, just because you pay a little more for the higher membership doesn't mean that the level of class gets any higher.

For example: A few months ago, I got out of the pool, showered and started getting changed... when a woman comes out of the sauna, showers off quickly and comes into the changing area.. completely naked of course. She proceeds to put one foot up on the counter (in front of a mirror), grabs her electric razor and starts shaving her pubes. For TEN MINUTES. Now its not like she was cutting down the whole forest.. she was trimming. Very intricately. Like.. bending over, looking REALLY closely, making sure she got every one.

What was worse, she was in her mid-50's, uber-tanned leathery skin and just damn ugly. I shudder at the thought that she was probably getting ready for a hot date that night. Blech.

Sorry, morons, your mother doesn't pick up in here!

This is one of my biggest peeves ever! I hate it when people leave their trash, spills, hair, crumbs behind, be it the in locker room, office kitchen, school classrooms, or cafeteria, or the parking lot. SERIOUSLY, people, WHO do you expect to clean up after you? SERIOUSLY!

Maybe it was some of that breast-enhancement cream. "I must, I must, I must increase my bust!"

Oooh, love the Lords of Acid! They have some fun stuff to get you through a workout, for sure

How 'bout the dude using the gym supplied hair dryer to fluff his pubes?

Oh. MY. God! I would expect to see something like that at Gold's in San Francisco. However, I've yet to experience that situation.
