OK Slugs...what are you plans for the last 3 days of this week.  We will move up in the polls on Monday....

Here's mine

Thursday - 30 minute ride (at least), 3.25 mile run (done)
Friday - 60 minute ride, 2 mile run
Saturday - 5k race (if not the race then a training run)

So what are your plans!

That is a good warmup schedule.  When are you going to start training?

GO PICKLES!!

Steady pace there slugs, no burning out. The next 3 days are going to be crazy busy for me but here's the plan.

Friday - Swim

Saturday - Run 8 miles

Sunday - Bike 30-40 Miles

Next week will be a bigger biking week. Have a century next weekend that I'm going to stretch into a 175 mile ride. A couple of 40 mile morning rides and running about 20 miles should get me back on track for my goal.

GO SLUGS!!!

175 Miles that is some serious miles for biking.  I think that would just about kill my butt for a week.

My training plans are.  Tonight a 5 mile run and a 16 mile ride I think.

Friday rest day
Saturday - Run 1/2 Marathon and possibly some biking, depending on how I feel after the run.
Sunday - A bike ride, but not sure how long.  Plus a birthday party for 4 kids.  I have 3 kids with September birthdays, and 1 that has a June birthday.  But since we were on Vacation while the June birthday went on, we desided to combine all 4 days at once.  We will also recognize my birthday (Sept 3) even if we don't celebrate it.

Go Slugs, lets kick some Pickle tail, wait Pickles don't have tails....

Well I got the run in, but the ride didn't happen.  I might try to do it in the morning, but I don't know if I can do it then or not.

I am 54.3% done with my running.... YEAH.  Only 32 Miles to go, and after Saturday it will be even less.

?Banana slugs

Scientific classification
Kingdom:Animalia
Phylum:Mollusca
Class:Gastropoda
Order:Pulmonata
Family:Arionidae
Genus:Ariolimax
Morch, 1859
Species

Ariolimax californicus
Ariolimax columbianus
Ariolimax dolichophallus

Banana slugs are decomposers. They process leaves, animal droppings, and dead plant material, and then recycle them into soil. They seem to have a fondness for mushrooms, and they spread seeds and spores when they eat. They move relatively slowly since banana slugs, like all slugs, have only one muscular foot.

I needed days off this week due to some leg problems that I think might be caused by my running shoes and B-ball season has compounded that problem. Should be OK now. Here's plan:

Today: Bike 22, Run 2
Sat: Bike Bike 50

That should put me about on pace for total miles although I have a long way to go for running. I have made a plan to pace to my goal which will include activity everyday so from here on out, kick my butt if you don't see a workout everyday.

Do Slugs have butts?

Only 19.9 miles more running for me until I have 100%  116 miles on the bike, that will be a little more of a challenge.

I met my run goal today!  Before I hear about me supposedly sandbagging or whatever from a pickle or wombat or whatever, this month I have already done a difficult 5K and a Half Ironman.  I have a sprint tri next weekend and on September 30th my first century followed by a half marathon on October 1.  So I made my running goals on the light side as I didn't want to risk injury plus I never expected to run 4 days after a HIM, nor do a long run of more than 2 hours 6 days after and feel fine.  But expect my final totals to be over 10 hours if not perhaps over 12 hours if all goes well.

As far as the bike, yeah, I know I'm a bit behind.  I wasn't able to get out there much this week.  But with the century on the 30th, I should be able to make up any time I have left at that point.

I wouldn't worry about someone calling you a sandbagger.  500 minutes is a pretty long time.

Some of these guys were at 70-80% LAST week.  That was only 25-30% of the month.  Not that it would be sandbagging.  But then what should you call it?

I set both my bike and my running to push me.  I could have set the run a little higher, but I am glad I didn't.  I think it would have pushed me over the level I could tolerate.  And 70 miles is the most miles I have run in a month this year.

Go Team Slug!
