Expert 1092 Earth | Subject: RE: The Banana Slug Thread Hey team we are doing great!! By my count everyone has really pulled together. I just feel sorry for Shawn, and his family. Saturday morning Shawn is going to get up and start his "Slug" Duathlon, I expect if he starts by 7:00 AM he should be finished by about midnight. That is provided he doesn't take too long to go to the bathroom, or eat. |

Expert 1357 Mukwonago, WI | Subject: RE: The Banana Slug Thread Yes - looks like we are really getting stuff done this week. I am a little stressed. I was going to get a long bike in last night but between being in a meeting until 8:30, coming home to be with family and then working on a project until 1am I didn't get anything done last night of this morning. Family wants to go to Homecoming game tonight and then my son has his Birthday party on Saturday. Yikes! I am hoping to get some miles in before the game tonight or after. Get up tomorrow morning and try to get my run miles in (6.5) before B-day party and then get back to the bike trainer tomorrow night. Somebody tell me to quite my whinning, call me a fat out of shape slob and get to work. Just a little over 1 day left and I feel so close. Good news though (no I didn't save a bunch of money on my car insurance). Looks like my soar throat is clearing up. Keep fighting you gender confused slugs!! |

If I was Eric Otte (the head Pickle), I could do it. But, alas, I am not as young as he. Just better looking.... |

Its been my observation that looks fade but a cool dog will always attract the women. That and a lot of $$. Don't you get some type of free miles allowance for administering the challenge numbers? |

Expert 1092 Earth | Subject: RE: The Banana Slug Thread Oh come on Barr, I know some 60+ year olds that Ultra-Marathon. You can do it, just kiss the wife and kids, hope on Eric's Segway and get those miles in. If your feet aren't bleeding by the time you are done, you didn't work hard enough. *Disclaimer - The words above are being spoken in encouragement and not meant to imply that any Slug should harm themselves in the attanment of their September goals. GO TEAM Banana Slug! |

Veteran 240 Denver | Subject: RE: The Banana Slug Thread I finished up with a 50 miler yesterday to reach my biking goal... The posts were great humor for this challenge but it really got me off my butt. I wouldn't have done three long rides this week if I wasn't worried about meeting my goal. A little peer pressure always helps. Great job everyone. October is going to be a big swim and weights month for me. I need to rest my knees. |

Master 2231 Des Moines, Iowa | Subject: RE: The Banana Slug Thread Results are posted! Check the main "Sept Challenge Thread"!! Good job Slugs! The team did great. I feel bad I drug us down so much. It was just a crazy month with literally everything. Feel free to verbally abuse me in whatever way you wish :-) I probably actually did more because I was in a challenge than I would have. So it was a good thing. Speedball - Good job team captain. You are the man....or should I say "Slug". Thanks everyone for making it fun. This was a blast. Edited by shawn barr 2006-10-02 2:46 PM |

In our hearts we know who the winners are. Everyone that got off their butts and rode or Ran for the month. Great job! |
