I bet that was cool.  What events did you run?

2 mile, mile, 400, and 4x400. I was exhausted by the end of each meet.
I have no idea where the mile and 2 mile were in the meet because hellz to the no I wasn't going to run those.  But I ran 400s and 100s and 4 x100 and 4 x 400.  And the 400s and relays were always close.  I can't even imagine adding a mile and a 2 mile to a 400 and a 4 x 400.  Eff that.  So I'm assuming your run is pretty strong too then?

Pssstt... have you SEEN his avatar?

Lol.  Yes :)  but there are plenty of guys who are built like that who can't run or bike worth a damn.

True, very true. I am betting that is not the case here :)

Yeah, if he was a miler, he can run.

My run is decent. Here are my PR's:

5k - 19:01

10k - 39:51

HM - 1:29:39

Those are open times. My next goal is to get closer to a 40 min 10k off the bike.

To give some background, I was a pretty quick runner in high school, but in college I got really out of shape.  After I started working, I began training for a 15k towards a HM to get back in shape, but I felt like I wasn't losing weight fast enough.  I started training for a sprint tri after I finished my 1st half with a time of 2:32 (yeah, we've come a long way), and my world changed forever.

Here's a before and after pic after my first year of tri training:

That's an excellent pic, and some very nice time improvements.  Strong work.  40 min 10K off the bike would be sweet.  You can't be too far off that--good luck!

I wear the jersey pretty often! No riding from me until tomorrow. I'm stoked about my race this weekend! My training points to a fast race on Saturday!

I am very impressed.  Thank you for carrying the team.  I am going to be switching over to trainer rides this week.  Not quite sure how to log that yet as I originally pledged miles.  hmmm...I'll think about it on the trainer.

1hour of pure suckage on the trainer with Trainer Road this morning. Road rides never hurt like that. I must be doing them wrong. Nice warm up, main set was 6x6' slightly over FTP, 2 min recovery between. Did I mention it sucked?

Nice ride! I think for mileage, I would just extrapolate time by your average on other rides for mileage logging purposes. That's what I kind of do with my personal tracking. Got my ride this afternoon. There's a 9.75 mile segment where the current strava record is 23.3mph. I plan on taking that like it's mine!

Hope everyone is getting a good week of training (with some cycling perhaps).  I had a swim and run yesterday and am now resting until my race on Saturday.  Next week I'll hit it hard to meet my mileage goal!

Holy Strava segment Batman!  Niiiiiiiiice!

Sounds like you've got a game plan--good, good, luck in your race.  My $ is on you.

Knocked out another TR hour this morning.  This one was not quite as painful as the last one.  I think my legs are finally starting to recover from last week.

Well lost to my rival by 2 seconds.  I'll have fun dwelling on the million points where I could have gained 2 seconds.  We both went 1 and 2 respectively in our age groups, so at least I placed.

2.6 miles for the warmup and a 17 mile bike for the race puts me at 19.6 miles for Saturday, and I rode 75.9 miles today with a friend training for Lake Placid.

http://app.strava.com/activities/67063089#

http://app.strava.com/activities/67063090#

That puts me at 350 for my total mileage, which puts me over my goal of 320.  I'll have to think about what mileage to bump my goal to.

An hour of lots of short 15-45 second hard intervals on TR this morning--went by really fast, and I felt pretty good.

You know what I love best about TR?

My husband can bring me coffee while I bike...and he does.

I remember doing the Jorge Winter Cycling plan he had days with a ton of 30" @ 100% w/ 30" @68%.  Tough after a while, but fun.

I started trying to figure a mileage bump goal, but I think I'll just focus on getting my remaining 4 stages in.  Got one coming tonight.

You're doing a really good job of ticking em off.  Nice.

68%???  Why 68?

You're right.  My memory was off, it was 75-80% on the off parts.  I trained by HR though, so bouncing your HR in that short of an interval isn't possible.  I essentially did 30" maxed out and 30" moderate.

Sweet!  I got a ride tonight.  After that I'll ride Saturday and Sunday to complete my stage goal.

After doing some number crunching, I'm on pace to finish only ~25% of the mileage the tour riders will have ridden over this period.  Those guys are some serious athletes!
