Great job!

Yes, it's blistering hot here in So Cal. Why do I ALWAYS have long runs planned on days that are STUPID hot??? It went reasonably well and we started at 6:30am, but it was already hot by 7:30 or so.

Whine whine whine ... at least I have enough energy and feet to run ... and apparently enough left over to whine

WTG for getting out in the heat for a long run, Yanti!! When I saw the forecast for today, I was really glad it was a rest day for me. LOL

106 degrees???  UGH! I complain about the cold here all the time, but it beats that heat.  Hope you can get in the water to cool off soon!  Good job getting an early start on the run today, Yanti.  I think our high today was 53, about half of yours.  You are welcome to come on up to cloudy Seattle any time you need to cool off!

hee hee... good point.  Great job getting out there today.  I was a slug.  Well, OK, I was kinda busy but I didn't train so I feel like a slug.

Wow, there is lots happening in here today!!  Congrats on the races today, that's fantastic.

I'm with Mila, busy today but no training.  I might manage a swim but time is running out for the pool and I have the grandson this evening.  Maybe I will spin on the trainer while we finish watching the Fantastic Four.

No travel this week so I will be back to my daily swim routine and a early spin class on Tuesday.   I still need to figure out my race schedule so I can get a more consistant training plan laid out.  For now, I will try to just maintain something productive each day.  Since I am just building my running back up after an achilles issue, I will try to concentrate on that for the next couple of weeks.

I am so looking forward to participating in this group and watching as we all move through our seasons together.

I finally got on my bike tonight for about 10 minutes. Learning the ins and outs of shifting. Will admit it's rather weird to move the "brakes" over to shift, but I'll get used to it. I think I'm going to stay on the trainer for abit while the girl parts get used to the seat. Hope it won't take long.

I can't believe I forgot to share this! Never to be one to sit around and wait for things to happen, I also popped my chain-ring cherry tonight

Fortunately, it's not toooooo bad. I don't think it'll leave a scar so I'll have to try better next time.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeesh have you guys been busy! A few days out of town and you guys practically leave me behind!

I don't have much time to post right now, but I wanted to drop in and say:

1) Hi, new Manatees! Welcome to the very, very best mentor group BY FAR. I'm Erin, and I'm still very new to tris -- I've technically only done one (or, like, one and five-eights, but the math gets confusing). I've had two cancelled on me and I've got another one in a week, so I'm *trying* to race more! Running is definitely my favorite and I'm focused on it for the moment, with my first two half marathons lined up over the next couple months.

2) I'm happy to report that I did manage one 6-mile run while on vacation in NYC. It wasn't easy, either. The running legs definitely don't like 6 miles after a night of heavy drinking, a hot dog and fries for lunch, and a long day of walking at the zoo.

3) CONGRATULATIONS to Leslie, Renee, and Shawn. WOW, our group had an incredible weekend. See, new manatees? This group is awesome!!

No. I'm sorry. I didn't do it right the first time. I will try harder next time. I do have ground in grease though, so I'm getting there

Yup. And in my house, "air conditioning" means you open the windows and doors and let the hot air in. It's not that you get cooler ... but like a convection oven, you do get crispier.

Heh... better luck next time!!

You know, I ride my bike quite a bit but I still almost always manage to somehow get grease on me even though no one else I ride with does.  Yes, yes they do mock me.

I always threaten to get a bike chain ring tattoo with pink flowers in it... maybe instead I should just go for chain imprint on the inside of my left calf to match the real grease?

A tattoo! There's a thought. I wish it were just grease...it actually took a bite, but I don't think a big enough one to leave a scar.

On a totally unrelated matter....I want to steal your avatar! LOL I'm another 'pink girl.'

And I can vouch for her. She's a total pink girl. I'm so NOT a pink girl, so it completely astounds me that I ended up with my 2 best girlfriends both being pink girly-girl types. LOL
