not many, looped around the neighbohood and another nearby neighborhood.  Some hills of minor conseqquence--mostly just riding and getting used to the new seat position.

14.14 miles on the books. The race went well. Full details in my blog, but I got 5th! Improvements need to be made, but at least I know exactly what they are.

I have no idea how much distance I covered yesterday, but I can assure it wasn't much. I spent a very wobbly and frustrating 40 minutes on my bike though trying to figure the whole balancing thing out. *sigh*

Miss Bunny, 40 min is 40 min! You are a rockstar for even doing it. It takes tremendous courage and cheer to do something for the first time as an adult--whether swim or bike--super kudos.

Congrats, Leigh!

Thanks, Bethie! I love the Barloboys. They are so hot.

FYI so it's someplace public--I'm still slogging away on dialup here--must revise goals to 15 stages of 15 minutes each. Might be laughable, but with spending so much time with the fambly here, want to keep goals light.

It's not about "light", it's about goals you can achieve given current circumstances. No worries!!

Yay Miss BunnyB!! You'll get it. Don't look at your feet or the handlebars or the front wheel, look out ahead 6-10 feet - look where you want to go, up ahead. That will help with the wobblies.

And speaking of hot boys, there's some new pics in the Men of BT thread. Triathletes just rawk. That is all.

Melissa - great, GREAT job on the bike!  You should be so proud even if you are frustrated. I've been reveling in my knowing how to swim - I know of three people off the top of my head who don't know how, won't even get in the water for second...and don't care to do anything about it either.  It takes guts to make changes..you GO!  I think its awesome.  You'll get there, you know more about it today than you did yesterday!

Hi everyone!  Great job on the race Leigh!  Kicking butt and taking names!

Hi Yanti!

Hi Yanti!

ditto what she said. These lifestyle changes are hard work.  Learning to ride a bike or swim properly as an adult is scary stuff.  I think we're all rockstars for taking this up!

LOL!

I don't think I did too much damage - although I did notice that some of the formulas aren't calculating - I didn't want to touch too much though

Thanks so much for the encouragement, gang! I've been really struggling to ward off the "you'll never be ready in time for your tri in October" demons all because of the bike. Thankfully, it's a super sprint distance, so I "only" have to ride 8 miles. Right now, that's the scariest 8 miles I can ever think of riding. LOL

I signed up for another round of swim classes today, too. I'm taking them at the Janet Evans swim complex in Fullerton. The class starts next week with sessions on Tuesday & Thursday evenings for the next four weeks. All of my swimming at this point has been in a 25-yard pool at the gym, so this will be a major change swimming in an Olympic size pool. If I'm feeling comfortable at the end of this round, then I might bump up to the Masters group at some point.

Beth - Awesome news about the ear infection clearing up! Hope you had a great spin class!
