I might join too.  its starting to become a large group ride. which sounds very cool.

I re-rode this loop this morning before work.  Even then there was little to no traffic except the Carefree Hyway.  One construction issue about two blocks long and a strech of less than a mile without a bike lane/shoulder - but very doable/fun!  To make my morning complete I even ate at the airport.  I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the loop!

SO here is my re-capped deal:

Those meeting at 6:30 can expect a no drop ride - either we split in groups or I return for all stragglers at key points (turns).

I made reservations for 8-10 people, but can shrink or expand the number if I call them on the ride (yup, I am a guy that likes to date a group all at once and still makes plans that include reservations! ).

I need a slightly longer ride that day before visiting Sin City for the week so I am doing a warm-up loop at quarter to 5.  If you feel froggy and have ridden with me before, I am starting on time so as not to miss the group ride start.

6:30 sharp we roll out of the parking lot of Reach 11 (either my car - IM_JER, or the bosses SUV - IMSHERI) will be in the correct lot already and only a few meters from the bathrooms)

If your first ride - bring a tube/CO2!  I have never flatted on this ride, but there are parts that me and a dtraggler do not want to have to search surronding bush for items to fix road tires!

As for Tanya laughing at the clipless challenged - I fell not once or even twice, but three times in two consecutive rides chipping my elbow and being laughed at by her!  But she did help me load my bike and send me packing so I forgave her!

Bring enough water for a couple of hours as there is only one actual hill but several rollers and gradual inclines until a 8 mile mostly downhill ride to the finish!

I (and several others of us) ride tri-bikes, so think safety!

I think that I am down for 2 laps. I will see how I feel after one. I have only done 30 miles before but after that I felt I could go another loop. I think that in a group I could hang a lot longer. I am very stoked for this. My first group. Now I ride a Tri bike as well so is there anything that i should know about, as far as safety?

Just don't ride close to someones rear wheel in aero (while not on the brakes), stay off to the side and ALWAYS ALWAYS alert and communicating. Thats the basic gist.

Thanks that is what I was thinking. Common sence. I have drafted before just not with a tri bike.

are we going to try to make this a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly thing. That would be great, I too have been looking for group ride to push me. I am on Happy Valley and I17 so location would be ideal!

In the winter I go through a bike bottle an hour.  More in the summer.  I am planning on having my aero bottle full of water, and one bike bottle of electrolytes replacement drink and one bike bottle of water on my bike.  BOTH frozen.

A no drop ride is the best way to break in a bike - plus you have help.  Show at 6:30 am and one loop then breakfast and your nerves will be cured!

Worst case scenerio is that we do have businesses in teh West Valley and if you go completely dry there is two prominant gas stations on the loop.

I will have a regular pump that I will have on my Camelpack. So if you flat i will help. And i am only takeing one bottle and a camlepack. I might bring extra water bottles and put them in my camelpack. I always have more water than I need.

I am just going to ride around them all until I find the rite one. So if you see a black F150 FX4 circling the lots with 3 guys in the truck and 3 bikes in the back, join in and we will form a cirling party.
I have an extra CO2 as I am sure one of my bros will also. So no backing out.
