Don't want to break Lauren out of her routine ...... if she is anything like she was at LP, she will be a nervous nelly.

C'mon L, come and eat with the crowd!!  No pressure.

Haha. This one could be worse... I tend to be even more nervous for the shorter races, and this is the first time in a few years I am feeling underprepared for a race and just kinda did "whatever" with my training.

I'll think about it. I also go to bed very early the night before a race, and I like to be in bed watching TV an hour before "lights out," just so I can veg out a bit and fall asleep. And then I get like 10 mins into the race and I am just having fun and don't care about anything anymore and ask myself why I had to be so neurotic and not enjoy life for the past 5 days? Haha. I do have a wedding to go to on Friday night. I'm not staying for dinner, but will be there through the cocktail hour...that's gonna throw me off too.

Sold the Prelude, actually have a little money now (until I pay bills) ..... Money mouth

It is really up to Mir.  Haven't confirmed what we are doing yet.  May still be a chance we'll come.

trishie - 2009-05-11 7:55 AM Looking forward to it ! Husband may have to work, but I'd err on the side of too many people versus too few for the reservation.

Do we have a definite time picked?

I was thinking 6pmish meeting there unless people want to come with me prior to and drop their bikes off. I might roll up to drop my bike off a little before that.  Transition closes at 8pm at the lake and last time to pick up your packet at the Sheraton is at 7pm.  So I'm thinking of going to the Sheraton around 430ish and dropping off my bike around 5ish and just milling around until the dinner.

Anyone can join me if they want.

So for anyone who wants to meet up first and go pick up packets & drop bikes off together....Sheraton lobby at 4:30pm.  Sound good?

Sounds good to me.  Will we be heading to the Lake to drop off our bike after and then dinner?!

Yep, works for me!  Meet in the Sheraton lobby at 4:30pm, then head over to drop off bikes, then head to dinner.  Not that I know where any of this stuff is.  If we have time to kill i'm sure we can come up with something or head back to the Sheraton for a bit.

How will we know who we each are in the lobby?

I'm going to look at all your pictures and try to memorize your faces.  100% chance I'll be in flip flops, 100% chance my toes will be pink, 90% chance a skirt.   I have long, straight, some would call it red but I'm not so sure, hair.  There you go!

I'll wear some super bright T-shirt that stands out and maybe also some funky shorts!!  I guess if you see other people looking at their watches and starting at the door then I figure we can find each other.

Yeah that works.  I plan to go there tomorrow evening to get a reservation.  I tried calling today but all I got was a guy who barely spoke english (this place is almost 100% italian) so it was a little hard to understand.  I think we will be okay considering they have plenty of seats.

I stopped by this past weekend around the same time and it was pretty empty but the place can sit around 50-70 people probably.

Probably coming with Mir and the little ones.  But we have to make sure they have something the bugs can eat.  They cannot have wheat .... so the pasta there is definitely out.  I'll check the menu availability.

^^^ Yay!

Just a reminder for everyone that the dinner will be at the Northern Laurel Pasta Blitz at 7530  Montpelier Road
Laurel, MD 20723 at 6.

It's in the shopping center behind the gas station.  The restaurant is all the way at the end, on the right side, of the shopping center.  It looks like if you google Pasta Blitz Laurel, MD, the address for their Clarksville location comes up....don't go to that one!!

Super easy ..... Rt. 29 to Hopkins Rd./Gorman Rd. exit.  Head west, shopping center on the right as soon as you exit.

Schweet this should be a good turn out.  I honestly think we will be okay with 15-20 people.  I'll try to get their early to get tables with whoever else comes with me/meet me at the hotel for packet pick up and bike drop off.

Of course!   Does anyone know where you can get those name tags such as " Hi! My name is?"

That's probably not a bad idea. If you're serious I can pick some up from Staples. We'll be a strange crowd if we're wearing name tags with our BT names on them. :-)

I was somewhat serious.  FIgure 20 people roughly with only online personalities and also considering I'm HORRBIE with names and forget your name 10 minutes after I met the person.

If you can pick them up, that'd be awesome.  BT names would be preferred obviously

Bring the marker.  We can write both our BT name & our real name right on there.  Perfect idea!

After some folks were posting about wearing flip-flops and skirts/jeans, I was thinking we should all wear flip-flops... and then we could be the strange flip-flop crowd... but I guess nametags work Wink plus I suck at remembering names too.
