How old are you guys?! (Page 3)

Welcome to my life, CJ. I'm 28 (and getting closer to 29 at this point), but a lot of people think I just graduated from college. Which is terrible, because people do not take you seriously if you look that young. Blah, blah, yeah I'll love it when I'm 35 and still getting carded, but right now, it sucks. I don't dress like a teenager, and I've been told that while my face looks young, I don't carry myself like a young person. So I guess that's good. But I've NEVER once been pegged for being older than I actually am.

Oh, I HATE when "older" people try to joke and think they're being polite when they tell you stuff like that (too young to do x,y,z). I think they think they're giving you a compliment, but really, it's insulting.

I get carded even when other people I'm with aren't carded (it's 21 here in the states). I even got carded at an R-rated movie when I was in grad school (so 24 or 25)!! I was p*ssed cuz the girl who carded me couldn't have been 18 herself.

My mom, who is nearly 60, has actually been carded when we've all been out to dinner. She's actually gotten mad a couple of times - since she's sitting there with her daughters, who are both in their late 20's, and even if I look 21, that means my mother is still clearly above the drinking age!

I understand why I still get carded when I order drinks. I'm less than 10 years over the drinking age, plus I look a little young and you can be fired from your job if you serve alcohol to minors, since the business can lose its liquor license. But the movie thing was just plain insulting, esp. since the girl was maybe 17 at best.  

31, turn 32 in October. I was carded earlier this year and accused of having a fake ID by an ignorant server, because my boat endorsement is on my DL.  They even threatened to call the police on me for a fake ID. Fortunately the Police officers I was out with showed their ID's and verified it was legit. I usually get told I look like I’m in my late 30’s (even have grey hair when I don’t shave my head) but sometimes I get younger.
