Sweet!  Congrats!

Can you get us all employee discounts?
Unfortunately no, but my husband does enjoy the same discount as I do...plus I can get a killer deal on a new bike...not that I'm looking or anything. All of this money is going into the "ZOMG-I-have 30k-of-student-debt-and-I-maybekindasorta-want-to-do-a-PhD" fund. I'm really excited, I'm working in a brand new store so we're starting from ground up, and all the people I've met at the previous interviews and stuff has been AWESOME.

Glad to hear about the job!!  There's an REI opening up near my house and I got a postcard about hiring.  I'm considering it, but with training and doing my PhD, it doesn't seem like a great idea.  I would enjoy the discount, though!

What's wrong with the bike, or is it just maint?

just bringing her in for a free mini-tune up before the race, they check cables, wear on the brakes, etc etc etc

Make sure they don't change your seat height.

I am so ready for 4:00 to get here... but I've got a meeting beforehand. Ugh.

mmm tristan wouldn't dare mess with june's height - he's fitted me on that bike twice now and he's good at it.
Is that what the kids are calling it these days? Slut.

I may have a crush on all the boys at my LBS but nothing more.  Dbag.

I'm not sure I could pick my LBS workers out of a line up if they mixed them in with tattoo parlor workers....

unfortunately I don't have much to choose from here. We only have one LBS.....there are several other that I think would be better but in the next city....30-45 minute drive.....hard to get over that way

please don't call me un-american, but am i the only person that doesn't want to sit and re-tell the story of where i was when "it" happened?  i prayed for the families of the victims and their peace of mind, but i just don't want to hear a single other "i just watched the video over and over" story.  i'm not even opening comet's thread.

Yeah. MSNBC, which is on the TV right in my line of sight, is replaying it in real time. As if that day wasn't painful enough, I get to sit here and watch it again as if it were happening right now. It's so depressing. I want to change the channel but that might seem insensitive. Our company lost two people who were giving a presentation at WTC1 that day and to turn the channel might seem disrespectful in some way.
