Do they have debit card accessibility or checks? Expo is in a HUGE convention center. There will be ATMs around, at the very least outside the expo hall. Also, Bank of America is title sponsor so I cannot imagine there would not be 1 or more BofA atms in the expo hall. I also think that most everyone selling at the expo will take debit/credit. |

I tried to say something to him, but he didnt get it. Anyway, as some of you know from stated earlier in this thread. I had a patellar dislocation Aug. 14th. I have only run twice since then, 3 miles each time and had to stop because of pain. I paid too much to just not attempt running my first chicago. Long story short...I finished the marathon in 4:04 with a knee that is at 70% and no distance run over 10 miles since first week of August. and strangely enough it really wasnt my knee that hurt today, more so my feet from not used to running Edited by Decatur217 2009-10-11 9:12 PM |

I was coming in on the el yesterday about 1130a and saw the 'thon going under the tracks (whihc is at about mile 20-21) and I knew everybody was hurtin' ... yet I longed to be out there racing with you all again. I think I won't skip this race again unless there's bigger fish to fry. I think doing it would've been a great training run ahead of the IM. Sigh. Oh well. Congrats to all who did it and I hope you had a great day!!! |

She went 3:35 and qualified for Boston with over 5 minutes to spare. We have to start looking for plane tickets and hotels this week. I'm happy and proud of her. |

Yeah, I signed up a while back. Need something to train for this summer. I knew it was going to be tough as I really didn't put 100% effort into training. Just happy that Anne got her spot to Boston. |

It was only about half-full?!?!Originally (when I signed up in February), I was planning on shooting for my first sub-3 marathon, but triathlon has taken over and my run-specific training has suffered. I'm doing a half-iron in two weeks, so I just wanted to hang on and stay healthy. The plan was to start at 7:30s and see how long that felt manageable. Pretty much kept that pace the whole way, with some minor ebbs and flows and finished at 3:19. Thanks to everyone who volunteered. This race was definitely very well supported! -Mike |

I wanted to share the below article that David Wallach of the Trib wrote about my good friend Lauren. It's kind of a fun look at what goes on in the back of the pack... And I'd like to ammend that I did indeed run with a bib...no baditing on my end. Thank YOU for volunteering.. Best race I have done (2nd Marathon.. and will do it again).. shooting for 4;00, ended up 4:30 due to lack o' training because of knee problems (which didn't show up on race day, but the IT Band and hammy cramps did).. still, awesome race, awesome volunteers! |
