Earlier in this thread, someone posted a list of Hotels in Muncie.  I stayed in the Hampton Inn in '09, but am in the Best Western this year.  Many hotels are already sold out, I'd book soon if you want to stay in Muncie.  I'm not sure about the surrounding areas however.

I'm excited too, really looking to break 6 hours this year!

Hi all.  I am about to register for this race tonight.  It will be my first HIM and prep/race strategy test for IM Louisville that I am all ready registered for.  

I did a sprint at Eagle Creek res. in Indy last year; beautiful area.... I hope Muncie is the similar.

With just 15 weeks until the race, I imagine everyone has started putting in the hours and miles, just wanted to get a feel for how everybody's training is going.

I've got to say, this is my first HIM and the training has got me really pumped. I've shed about 10 lbs in the last 5 weeks while eating the same things. The intensity, distance, everything is really a step up from anything I've done since high school swimming days. I love it though, I'm always looking forward to the day's workout(s). I will definitely be ready at the start line in July.

Also, what races (for you Indiana people) are you using (if any) for tune up races? I'll be at Carmel, Terre Haute, and possibly the June Eagle Creek (though I might do it as a relay with my brother and wife).

Training is going quite well so far, with a steady build.

I'll be doing Carmel sprint, Pokagon oly, and Leon's oly as tune-ups and rehearsals for Muncie. 

Training is going great.  I caved and decided to go with a coach.  I figured I would take the guess workout of my prep and just do what a veteran tells me.  Its just like the army all over again for me... keep your head down, do what your told, and work hard!  This is my first HIM too.  Muncie will be my tune-up race for the Louisville IM. My second milestone this year.   Also, I was thinking of doing the eagle Creek June sprint mentioned earlier.  I did it last year and loved the venue. My wife was thinking about making it her first tri too but we will see; it was a fast and very pretty area.  will enjoy going back again.     

Question about spectators for anyone who raced the Endurathon in the past.

My wife, Inlaws and 2 young children are coming to watch me race. However they probably wont be coming until later in the morning. Does anyone know if they will be able to get to the event after the race starts.
