smeador - 2011-01-01 10:51 AM 21 servings of veggies already today?

My miscalculation, somehow thought it was a point per serving as opposed to a point for 7 in the day.  Haven't met the full point yet but have 4 servings in so far!

oops--you bill and i both made the same mistake

on the spreadsheet it does say # of servings of fruit and vegs, not EACH DAY of 7 servings of fruit and veg ... you think it woulda occurred to me to change the heading ...

OK.  I'm in and on the spreadsheet. We still have so much candy and cookies sitting around here from the holidays that I definitely need a challenge to hold me accountable!

wgraves7582 - 2010-12-30 11:47 AM Emma I have a question

Servings of Fruit/Veggies.  V8 says it is equal to x # of servings - do we go by that.  I make smoothie with that and then frozen fruits so I would end up with about 8 servings alone.

Is that right or is it 1 smoothie = 1 serving?

You blend V8 with fruit? Original V8? Imagining that flavour combination scares me a little. How do you like it?

V8 Fusion.  Here is what I did

1 8oz serving = 1 serving of Veggies and 1 serving of Fruit then I added 1 cup of Frozen Fruit (2 Servings) for a total of 4 servings from my smoothie.

Let me know if that is a problem

That sounds really good!  i need to try that and its a great way to get my fruit and veggie servings!

I'm off to a bad start.  Spent all day in Charlotte with my family and got back just in time to drive over to the bf's house to have dinner.  So no time for a workout.  Failed on the no sugar, junk food about 5 minutes after waking up when i grabbed a cookie for breakfast... not sure why but it seemed like a good breakfast since we really didnt have anything in the house and had to leave to get to the airport in time to drop off my sister.  Still working on the 64 ounces of water, I may actually hit this one  Oh and I got one serving of veggies in with dinner.  Will do better tomorrow.

THat is freaking highway robbery!  Here in the states I can get them for $2.00 a box.
I am not a pop tart fan so I will stay out of the discussion as to their "worth" for the cost.  I am biased.

So I think I got my fruits and veggies in......of course the OJ had champagne in it, the fruit was topped with canoli cream and the veggies went into the dip first.

Maybe not too good on the no sugar part!

7 points for my first day! I also learned: I don't drink nearly enough water normally, and the no junk food thing is harder than I thought, even though I don't normally eat much of it.

Hope everyone has a point filled day

So so for Day 1.  Managed a run and gulped down way more than 64 oz. of water.  I'm usually pretty good about that and don't anticipate it to be a problem.  We're low on provisions at the moment, so I fell short on the fruits and veggies.  All was going to be OK on the junk food front until I went scavenging for an evening snack.  Avoided the sweet stuff that seems to be sitting everywhere in abundance, but couldn't stay away from some popcorn.

On to Day 2!

I think that I'm going to buy a box of blueberry Pop Tarts and count each pastry as a serving of fruit.

I know exactly what you mean.  I've been having a hard time avoiding it today.  I did come up with a strategy for it though.  I get junk food/sugar/soda every other day.  I'll try to make that every third day in week 2, every 4th day in week 3 etc.

Doh, a friend of mine literally just left the US to come back here, I should have got her to bring me some!
