I started this thread, and it was automatically created when I added the 2013 race to the listings. I've done this in the past as well, so, not my first rodeo. Not sure why it didn't link up, but I assure you it was created in the correct manner. Anyway ... just started getting back into the groove of things after taking a few months off after IM NYC. I feel slow lol, but it was nice to take some time off. Probably won't get into anything too serious until after the new year though. 2013 is already filling up quick: March: Shamrock Marathon April: Rev3 Epic Adventure Race May: Kinetic 70.3 June: Rev3 Williamsburg 70.3 August: IMMT! Anyone else make any other race plans yet? |

Master 2500 Crab Cake City | Subject: RE: Ironman Mont-Tremblant : Official Thread I am volunteering at IMMT this year and the only race I have planned for the year is Rev3 Half Full in October in MD. I am probably going to do a few Olympics this year too. Anyone know of a good tune up HIM before IMMT in the Mid Atlantic Area? |

Veteran 283 Va Beach | Subject: RE: Ironman Mont-Tremblant : Official Thread 2013 will be my busiest year, I signed up for IMMT and IMFL, have not done 2 IM's in one year, so I'm a little nervous about that. Also doing Kinetic 1/2 and Raleigh 70.3, add in Shamrock and Rock-N-Roll VB half marathon and I have a full season ahead! Oh well, you never know until you try, so why not go for it. Jim |

Regular 63 Sunnyvale, CA | Subject: RE: Ironman Mont-Tremblant : Official Thread Just joined this thread and wanted to say hi to my fellow 2013 IMMTers. This is going to be my third IM (2011 IMCDA, 2012 Full Vineman) followed by my -- hopefully -- fourth (IMAZ). Sounds like a great and challenging race. Looking forward to it! |

Member 30 | Subject: RE: Ironman Mont-Tremblant : Official Thread Hello All There is a group of us going from Chatham Ontario. I was thinking of pulling are travel trailer there and staying in it. Just wondering what traffic would be like to get to a parking location in the morning of the race. I'm thinking it should not be to bad since it will be early in the morning. Does anyone have any info on this? |

Member 30 | Subject: RE: Ironman Mont-Tremblant : Official Thread Thanks for the replies.
Since we live in a very flat area (the over pass over the 401 is probably the biggest hill we have) what would you all recommend we do to train for hills?
Also what gearing would you recommend for the race? |

Member 28 | Subject: RE: Ironman Mont-Tremblant : Official Thread It depends on how strong a cyclist you are. I went around 5:10 last year and rode a standard crank (53-39) and a 11-28 cassette and on a couple of the hills on the back end of the course I wished I had a couple more gears because I like to just spin up the hills easy and that wasn't possible with that gearing. Wasn't overly hard but defiantly not easy. On a course like this I'd rather err on the side of caution and have those extra gears for the hills your legs will thank you on the run. |

I just wanted to let everyone know that my club and I are offering a free training camp on the course the weekend of July 26-28th. For most people, this should be the ideal weekend for your last high volume training before starting to taper. It should be a lot of fun and a great chance to familiarize yourself with the course. Please let me know if you're interested or have any questions. Thanks. Happy training! |

Thanks I did it last year. there is parking basically right next to transition (across the road out of the bike exit) but i am not sure about how likely it will be to get spot the morning of the race as many people staying at the resort use this parking. And the transition area takes up all of one main parking lot. During the run portion we saw regular shuttle buses taking spectators/racers back to the old village - not sure if that was overflow parking or not. We stayed on the resort and had the underground parking in the hotel. |

We stayed in one of the hotels that's part of the village - i think it was 'Au pied de la montagne' and we were right in the village - we took the gondola down to the transition area in the morning and on race day they had the gondola running until after the race was done so we didn't have to trudge up the hill which was much appreciated! Most of the hotels in the ski village which are the closest to the transition are managed by Intrawest and have central booking for those hotels. But there are lots of condos right around there which can likely be booked through other groups (I don't know what they are). I am sure some other folks did this - we just went with the ski village which was very convenient. Some places are pretty pricey but there is a range. |

Getting everything organized, going to be doing Level 6 out of Fitzgerald's book... I have the RnR DC marathon in a couple weeks so I'm already into taper for that, mixing in some biking and swimming should help avoid excess energy anger... |
