I was checking in to say the same thing. But Jamie said it better so I will repeat it. Go Roland!!!!!!!!!

And Jamie, great job on getting to 900 miles. You will make that 1000 miles for the year.

At packet pickup today, moved down to the 10K. I know that I'm not recovered enough for the HM tomorrow and God I hope, I can walk/jog/crawl thru the 10K. So wanted the medal for Medals4Mettle.com but I've got to give up on that notion.

ROLAND! ROLAND! ROLAND!!!

Looks like Roland is half way through the bike. Hope it's not too hot out there.

I'm at 47 miles half way through the month.

Last night's run put me at 76 for the month.  It was an interesting race and venue.  No drama in my run.  Decided to bring my pace down and avoid hitting the wall.  Goal was to run the whole thing.  Accomplished that with no issues.  Ended up being a little slower than I wanted to but actually running the last 6 miles was something of a monkey off my back.

Thanks.  It was a pretty cool venue but there were a lot of things from an organizational standpoint that they really missed on.  Overall, I got the impression that they were selling and supplying the "Rock N Roll" brand name and forgot about a lot of things from a runners perspective.  They are all about making a buck, period, and it got to a point of ringing hollow by the time I got through my post-race buffet of a stale banana and packet of pretzels..

I'm only at 35 after tonight's run. I had to take the weekend off because I was out of town.

Thanks guys!!! Oh boy was I wrong about the weather predictions. It got bad for me as I approached the 2nd loop turnaround because it started raining. I hit the dark place several times during that race. I'll have my race report written soon!

Steve, congratulations on a great race!!!!! Race Report? Would love to hear how it went. Yea, I've done one RNR and one Diva and there is a big difference in the atmosphere.

Roland, just read your race report. Wow! You did great. Especially love the way you encouraged people!

I'm around 53 miles. I'm getting a little bit too much into this recovery. Been able to sleep later since I don't have to get up at 5am to get in some miles. Ate a whole BIG bag of Wavy Lays over the weekend and plan to have steak today. Enjoying since they are all things I haven't been able to do for 6 months. But also getting a little antsy.

Oh man, that's a stinker about the post race buffet. How lame! But congrats on a great race! Running the whole marathon is really impressive. Congratulations man! I'm gonna consult with you about how not to hit the wall in the later miles for my next marathon.

I'll just leave this here for the ladies in the group, from a women's running article that my sister sent me.

Bwaaahaaahaa, Jamie. I'm not sure but I think I'm the only woman in the group this month. And let me tell you, that is definitely not the sensitive issue for me. Not by a long shot. It's weird how my hubby and I have been married for 20+ years and in all that time, we didn't feel a need to talk about our bodily functions - until we did some very early morn runs. Hubby now knows way more about his wife's ability to act like a bear in the woods. Sorry, TMI but it's the truth.

Well....I've been sick and will have to bow out on this one. I couldn't make up the miles anymore without getting hurt.

Consider yourself lucky that's all he knows Pink Socks! My wife was very sick at one point in our marriage and I ended up having to assist in said bodily functions. NOT FUN! All is good now though. She's in training for her first IM in 2016!

The best is when a fart comes out with each foot step and it gets progressively higher pitched like a piano scale. And also when that exact thing happens with half a dozen people all around you...

87 for the month. Soooo windy down here. I felt myself springing a little higher with each stride when the wind was at my back just to let it push me a touch farther.

Steve, just read some of my running mags and one features LV RNR. It confirmed that you started at night. What time of night? And Kid Rock was there? Good, bad, stoned, or indifferent performance? And fun fact I learned, RNR is the only private event that closes the Strip; only other is the city's closing on New Year's Eve. Should I add to list of races to do just for kicks? As hubby is recovering from his injuries, I'm going to try to divert his Type A personality by finding fun races where we just - oh dare I say it after Jamie's comments - fart around.

And Jamie, I saw your comment on my RR for Soldier's. Oh Hell No, I couldn't bow to that witch even for a BQ. A girl has to stick to her principles. You are really trying to get a rise out of me, aren't you?

23 mile long run before a marathon? I've never heard of that before. I think she was trying to show off her coaching skillz in the hope that you'd cut her a check right then and there.

The first wave was at 4:30.  My wave was about 15 minutes later which was pretty close to sunset.  We walked by the venue Kid Rock was playing at as he finished his last song.  Didn't think spending a few extra hours on my feet before racing was worth it.  I'll by writing up a race report soon with my impressions on the race but as far as this being a wish list race I think there are many, many other races that I'd do before this one.

Late to the party, but I'm in. I've been running at least 6km/day, and am up to 123km for the month so far. 160km (100 miles) is my minimum goal, but I'm looking to get to 200km. My longest run streak before this month was about 4 days, so I'm pretty psyched to be at 20 days so far!

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
