Hey everyone! My goals for this week are one easy bike, run, and swim. Take Friday off to rest. First tri of the season on Saturday. Recoup on Sunday.

The only bummer is that I feel a cold coming on. That would be a huge bummer on race day. Ugh!

I don't really care about who started it, but I woke up this morning with fire in my throat ... going to give it a day before I decide whether or not to pull out of Saturday's race.

Thanks a lot, all you sick, germ-giving a-holes!

Is that why it's called a computer "virus." :-) Cheezy grin.

Ugh! I'm still sick! I have a hard time imagining doing this race with how I'm feeling, but I want to get out there and try. I'm kind of bummed that it's a reverse, because running is the hardest/most exhausting for me and its first. That's going to be a tough mental hurdle. We'll see. I guess I'll get out there and do what I can, but be smart about DNFing if things get bad.

Picked up my packet, bought a new pair of running shoes, gonna get the tri suit out of mothballs (not really), and thinking about a haircut if I have time today ... I'm in.

Jocelyn, hope you feel up to the race tomorrow!  And think of it this way ... get the running done first and just enjoy the rest of the race!!  YOU CAN DO IT!!

Just a quick warning -- be careful wearing new running shoes for your race. New anything on race day can be really unpredictable. FWIW.

And, Jocelyn, I agree, just think of the run as an easy warm up and have fun with it, not worrying about time or anything. It's just a bit harder workout with lots of other people around.

I know, I won't be wearing them tomorrow.  Packet pick up was at Movin' Shoes in Pacific Beach, and I have been looking for a pair of shoes.  Found a good pair of New Balance shoes that fit my wide foot better than the Adidas trail shoes I have, so I picked them up.  I'll kick around in the Adidas for a while, but I like having a new pair to turn to when I'm ready.

WHOOOO!!!  Had a GREAT race today!!!!  Don't have the results and probably won't for a day or two, but I felt good and fast the whole race!  I'll do more in my race report, but I've got to say that I'm really, really happy with my performance!

That's great, Morgan!! Congratulations. That cold didn't slow you down one bit. How was the water? What was the temp?

Jocelyn? How are you feeling?

I'm proud of both of you for going for it.  Hope you feel 100 percent soon.  If it makes you feel better, it was 20 degrees here, I spun for two hours in the basement and went to the gym to run 5K indoors and swim 1200.

The good news is that my wheels are going to be done this coming week and my aero bars will come with them.  The components are still off the radar, hoping soon, but who knows.  The sale was great - 40 percent off - but SRAM is making us wait for delivery 

Hey everyone! Thanks for the words of encouragement! I was able to complete the race and my times, although not the best, weren't as bad as I expected. I did feel pretty beat after, but feel surprisingly better tonight. I'll let you know when the race report is up!

51 degrees air temp, 58 degrees water temp.  Not even close to as bad as I had inticipated.
