Everyone's instagram pix are so much cooler on a larger screen!!!!!!!!!! I can't find the BT app on the kindle though. Anyone else have one? Kindle is an Android. Can you load it from the Google Play store? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beginnertriathlete.BTMobile You may have to check the settings on the Fire to allow it to use/sideload Android apps from places other than the Amazon app store. Maybe something like this? http://www.gizmag.com/how-to-install-google-apps-kindle-fire-hd-hdx/30736/ |

Regular 980 Caerphilly, Wales, uk. | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors v.2 thr.3 CLOSED (Poptart/pet pic bribes considered) During my trainer road ride today something strange happened toward the end of the 1st 9 min FTP interval. It felt like my heart had a hiccup. My HR dropped instantly from -168 bpm to about 136 bpm. Made me stop pedaling for a bit. Did my heart stop for a few seconds? It felt similar to when you swallow air, but in the heart(?) Should I be worried? The ride trace is here: http://www.trainerroad.com/cycling/rides/1309463-Warlow It happened about the 23 minute mark. Veteran 2441 Western Australia | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors v.2 thr.3 CLOSED (Poptart/pet pic bribes considered) Man you guys got chatty and insightful all of a sudden. I managed to seek some time at work this afternoon to try and catch up and the site was down for maintenance. But I have finally managed it. Interesting what you were saying about reflection Chris, I have been doing a bit of this lately. To me this year when I look back I haven't achieved much that I can actually cross off a list but I think that something much bigger has happened. At 39 I am finally starting to feel comfortable in my own skin for the first time since I can remember. I don't know if it is because I finished my Masters degree last year or what, but I actually feel like there is less "faking it" and more "making it" happen on a professional level and more importantly I think that I have finally convinced that voice in my head that has been screaming at me since I started school nearly 25 years ago that I am not stupid. For a girl who couldn't read until she was about 11 this is a big thing. I went home to the town I grew up in a few weeks ago and saw a number of the girls I went to school with and I thought look at you, you have done nothing. You still live in the same little town you have spent your life in, your fat and unfit and either have no job or one that is going no where (I know judgemental of me, but to be honest after the hell these girls put me through as a kid I feel a bit entitled to be like this to them). So that is 2014 in a nutshell and at this stage my race plan for 2015 looks a bit like this: 14/12/2014 - sprint tri 01/02/2015 - Oly my first and my A race 15/02/2015 - sprint tri (things might get a bit derailed from here in depending on puppies) 12/04/2015 - sprint tri 24/05/2015 - 12k run for a reason (run the whole way this time) 30/08/2015 - city to surf maybe half, maybe marathon not decided yet 22/10/2015 - turn 40 and try not to freak out about it too much |

And 40 is simply another number on our journey. Enjoy it and all that comes with it! |

The altitude might be a factor and there are definitely some hills but I can vouch for how beautiful it'll be. |

Veteran 2842 Austin, Texas | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors v.2 thr.3 CLOSED (Poptart/pet pic bribes considered) Originally posted by cdban66 Anyone watch the Beer Mile? How was it? Shame on me, but we missed it (was swimming - stoooopid of me!). Kim did see Kara Goucher running around the lake yesterday (when I told her she was in town for the beer mile, she said, "Funny - I saw her this morning and thought it was Goucher but then thought no way!"). Next year (and more importantly, this past one) seems like a dumptruck full of awesome (to rip off Ted King) for so many Manatees! Really happy to hear people feeling good about the past year, and it's inspiring to read about next year (and Monica, I'm sure your skedj will fill out, but, ummmmm, an IM kinda counts by itself!). For me, not sure, but here's the preliminary thinking: 12/6/14 - 2 mile "jog/race" with the family and half of Austin at Zilker Park (Tour of Lights or some such - should be fun, and I can crush the hopes and dreams of at least SOME of the little kids running - yes!) 1/15 HM. Net downhill, but won't be ready to really race (bummer, as SLIGHT downhills are fun) I need to find more races, as that is one ANEMIC skedj, but all I've had time to suss out, as yet. Matt |

I keep on coming up with running-related items, probably because I haven't been outside for a ride since, oh, September 6th. I was thinking knuckle lights but I asked at Fleet Feet and they said they are great but if you have any form of motion sickness, don't get this. That means no knuckle lights for me. Have any of you tried the Nathan light spurs? Do they stay on? Do they damage your shoes? |

I got a couple of these recently and really like them: https://www.roadid.com/builder/single/default.aspx?styleid=12 You can clip 'em on anywhere. I put one on my collar in the front and one on my hat in the back. They work great and the one on my collar didn't bother me at all. DH has one of these that I borrow. It fits under my hat and sits on my forehead so I'm not totally crazy about it. http://www.rei.com/product/838548/petzl-elite-headlamp I've asked for this: http://www.rei.com/product/842481/amphipod-xinglet-flash-led-reflective-vest.
