badgerintx - 2010-09-21 10:28 AM How about a little bike porn for a Tuesday:

After looking for months, my LBS found what I wanted late last week.  Got fitted on her last night and took her for a ride on the trainer this AM.  Man is it nice to not be all strecthed out.

Now, we need a name....people!

Sweet bike Dave!!!
But, not a big fan of the name 'people.'
How about the 'badger-mobile.'  or 'Felt like the first time'

Who is Dave?  Oh, that's the Canadian translation for Dino?

Beautiful bike!  Love the color scheme...Black and green = F.A.S.T.  !!!!!!!!!!!

Love it.  Beautiful.  And FAST.  (Did you go with the black, or some other color?  It affects the naming options.

Exact color scheme as pictured.
Didn't have a chance to take a real picture yet for you guys to rip on everything in the background......maybe tonight!

So here are the ideas so far:
1. Five-hole
2. Cat
3. North Star

How about Black Radioactive?

Okay I'm not so good with names. :-)  I named mine Roulette.

Anyhoo - I'm *praying* that I didn't lose my bike/run fitness over a little bump in my life (my last living Grandparent passed away). I could barely get in a run here in NJ.  I started a new medication, that caused me to be nauseous for a while, so I hardly feel like I want to do anything.

I have triathlon this Sunday. I'm hoping to get in a Bike on Thursday, a Bike/Run (non-brick) on Friday, and a run on Saturday.

Hopefully I didn't lose too much fitness.  From now until Dec half-mary, I'm self-coaching. I had to pay my airfare, so I don't have enough money left over for coaching. I know it sucks, but I think I'll be alright.   My only concern is the half-mary.  I really would like to RUN/walk the whole thing, but I think I will be just fine walking the last few miles.   I'll be the slowest runner of the MG, so I hope you all will be waiting for me at the finish line! :-)
Goal for the race is to get out of my comfort zone and push harder.  I have found that my last two races I held back some. While that's seem to be a good idea, but I feel like I had a whole lot left in my tank when I finish and I was afraid that I'll screw up on the run if I pushed too hard on the bike.   Hope this is a good goal! My OLY tri is next month, so knowing my "limit" will help me determine how fast to go on the bike/run.  Swim - I don't care too much for it actually, and I am just going with the flow.

Okay, is it just me, or do Dinos and Suzy's avatar photos look way too similar?  I spent all morning trying to figure out why Suzy got a new bike.

I gave my bike a different official name but now it is commonly referred to as the Little b*stard every time I have to go for a long ride.

SHE's very pretty!! Maybe sometime our green bikes can go riding together and make baby green bikes!! I keep seeing my bike in our tv room. It's sitting there so nicely, so patiently, so quietly. I know it wants to be ridden. I know I want to ride it!! But the only days I really have to ride it are the days before long runs and I'm so afraid of trashing my legs. But I still love my bike -- just seeing it makes me smile. Maybe loving it and wanting to ride it will help me be faster next time I do ride it!!!

This basically means please someone come up with something better!!!!  I originally started with the thought of female Badger for obvious reasons, but that is a SOW, not so hot or attractive....my last idea is TAXUS....no one will no what the heck it means, but it is the formal species name for Badger.  If you say it just right, it can sound kind of hot, sleek and sexy.  Ok, that's all I've got.

PS Tracy, I think that lake water is affecting more than your stomach!

What an awesome video Suzy!!  Great memories.

Dino ~ great looking ride man.  Now I'm jealous.

Any decisions on White Lake yet?  If Wilmington isn't too far, I might just stay there.  Anyone know setup's policy on the bike drop off?  Is it the same as WTC events (the day before).

This might be tmi, but it is a tri site.  I just found something I never really noticed since my race.  Mega blisters on the lower part of my heels (from all the damn walking) that are the entire width of my heel.  One just popped.  That's how I found it.  That made me look at the other foot and Yikes!  Same thing!  I'll spare you all from any pics.

Chris:

I have never done a setup  half (my first half is sunday), but reading the race reports it loos like bike do NOT have to be dropped off the previous day. Most people seemed to bike over and set up transition. Hope that helps.

So untrue, just letting the group brainstorm for me.  It can go unnamed for a week or two, but once she takes a name, that will be its name forever!  I liked the little bast*#*d comment, that made me chuckle.  If I took Suzy's lead with her "RU" I could call her "LT"  Innocent

Suzy and my avatar look alike because that is how they teach us to run up here in Wis-con-sin......  Laughing  Here is to hoping that some of her endurance speed rubs off on me this off-season!

Tony, lots of quotes in quotes just for you!

Hey!!!!

So here is my update on the Spring HIM event.  We're basically free mid-April to mid-May!! YEAH, right?  We realized the week Washington normally takes place is Easter weekend so I am guessing it will take place a different weekend. Maybe the following???  I am also guessing Mother's Day is out for most mom's so that would leave the second White Lake event which is a little later than I as hoping for.  So I would lean towards Washington, but can be persuaded.

My most important thing is I am absolutely NOT staying in a dump.  I would rather drive 30 minutes to the race than camp (I cannot camp) or sleep in a rat trap.  Am I clear???? Laughing

oh and if anyone has any interest in moving to an entirely different state, REV3 is in Knoxville....just to mix things up!

Trevor

If you look at the 2009 results, ALOT of people were way over 5 1/2 hours.  They won't sweep her or stop the clock. My guess is they want to get the strip back in business which is why they say that.  Often they will move runners to the sidewalk at some point in time.  So tell her to stop worrying and keep running!
