It's on my list for the summer. I am actually doing a milk mile this Sunday, I figure that will be my trial run. Baby steps.

That sounds like my kind of horrible fun, actually. Similar rules? Do you drink milk every 1/4 mile or is it that you chug a certain amount before starting?

Every quarter.

Aint gonna be pretty, that's fo sho.

How much do you have to chug down?

I have a brewers yeast intolerance.  I'm SUCH a loser.  I never drink before or after races.  Please don't kick me out.  I do love wine.  Hubs and I spent our honeymoon drunk in Sonoma.

I don't even know who you are anymore.

The rules state "a cup"

I'm hoping that means just 8 oz

You will get your core workout from the retching on the 3rd or 4th lap, so you've got that going for you.

Sounds friggin awesome. I'm in.

I think a wine mile might be a little tough.  And those red wine stains are brutal.  Surprised

Oh, alright.

You gotta help me out here--what's a "plank jack"?

Found one, don't think it has been posted.."Shake ya But watch ya selfShake ya Show me what you workin with"Plank Jack... I find that I cannot do a minute straight yet with perfect form. I have to take a quick 1 or 2 second breather during my set.
Oh those sound perfectly brutal. Nice. Shake it like a salt shaker.

Most of the exercises I have been doing are from a boot camp class I did over the winter. Instructor was crazy but really good at her job... You know how those exercise class instructors are, craaaaazy!!!!!!!

Whiskey mile could be interesting. Noelle, how do you feel about whiskey?

See, I could handle 4 shots like that much easier than the 4 beers or the 4 glasses of milk. Nowhere *near* as much fluid, no carbonation, and not the same digestion problems as milk.

The interesting part would be 10 minutes after everyone finished the race.

Who said anything about shots? The milk is a complete no go. I would be lucky to get one glass down without puking--running aside.

So how do they measure whiskey consumption in your neck of the woods, if not by shots?

I *love* chocolate milk, and will take down way too much of it once I start drinking it. I just haven't tried running with it yet.

Sometime soon, someone will return to posting about core workouts.

So I'll handle the milk, you handle the whiskey. Then we can tag team the beer.

That sounds like a very healthy relationship, speakin' of getting to that booty

To tie our disparate booty and drinking ideas together, this is what will happen if you make me drink a bunch of scotch or whiskey before a race.

The Atlanta Flying Disc Club (Ultimate Frisbee League) has a whopper mile and PBR mile race every summer. Why anyone would run the whopper mile (eat a full whopper, with no exceptions, every 1/4 mile) is a mystery to me. Not surprisingly, it has been overshadowed by the PBR mile, which quickly gained popularity. (Ultimate frisbee players are not afraid of beer or competition.) One tall boy can of PBR every 1/4 mile. And it must stay down. If it does not, you are disqualified. Thems the rules.

The thought of all those bubbles sloshing around is enough to make me lie down. That is why I, myself, have never participated. But, I have spectated. And what a spectacle it is! You need to be sure you can jump out of the way at any moment should someone need to hurl in your direction. I must admit it is very entertaining. I have run a lap or two near the end of the race to cheer on the few remaining runners who look like they need a little encouragement. I can jog and sip, but not run and chug.

Unrelated note to self: Giving blood can effect your workout the day AFTER giving blood. I took the 'day of' off so I thought I was fine. I was not. But, today is a whole new day! Back to the pool...and to the floor for some more core!!

Me, too...though I'm pretty high maintenance about it.  Single malt only, not of that blended stuff.  And I like the buttery, oaky kind, not the peaty, ocean-salty stuff.
