Here is one my b-i-l came up with last night.

I also want to add that he can make something really awesome, if we give him some time. He is the lead character artist at a video game company. You can see some of his work at weatherl.blogspot.com

I like except maybe instead of last square, have a beer bottle and the words" triathlon, more than just swim, bike, run..." or something like that.

Not sure what the challenge is this week but I had a great run this morning. Was a little poke, so I went with a sit in hot tub instead of swim.

Not sure on what challenges are floating around but...

117/200minutes.

5/24 if we are doing a 24/28 monthly challenge.

3 for the week so far.

Weight...weighing in tomorrow. Fingers crossed I have dropped into the 220's! Need to look good in May in my speedo at the pool in Phoenix...NOT!

Have a great day everyone!

Mid-week update: First, I'm already enjoying the activity and rhythm of this group! I'm definitely in the right place! This morning I punched out workouts 3 and 4 for the week with a swim and then a short recovery run. I swam 300 meters straight freestyle for the first time since I was 18 AND I didn't go anaerobic so I'm pretty pumped. I'm finally cleaning up my form enough to slow down my stroke without sinking and finding my breathing rhythm. I've got 4 more workouts scheduled this week and may try to get a bike in. Currently I'm only getting in the saddle when I feel good since I'm still in the final phase of a half-marathon build for an A race and I don't want to push my legs too hard. On the beer front I've got 1 more Dogfish Head Burton Baton in the fridge that I'm holding on to to reward myself after my 11 mile run Friday. Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Great job! keep it up!

Hey Guys,

Sorry for being an absentee team member for the past week, No excuses, no excuses for the lack of workouts on my part as well.

At work right now cashing in on some Overtime, and about to get in a workout, then looking at hitting the pool after work. Still ridiculously cold here, usually not warming above -20 celcius at any time in the day.

I am in for the February weight loss challange gotta keep this train rolling downhill, ill try to check out the google doc later today and update my goals.

Justin

I swam like I'd forgotten how this morning. I swear I haven't had a swim that bad in ages. 1000m, 30min of pure he!!--41/400.

I like the designs so far (except the farting drunk in the last frame)...we're getting close! Excited!

Went for the bike fitting and spent close to 45 minutes getting some minor adjustments done.

While on trainer the bike felt pretty good

Picture of the snow we have here in Rochester NY

Now on trainer in living room, looking forward to riding it this evening

So, I originally told my b-i-l that I wanted something like the Arrogant Bastard logo, but instead of the devil looking guy, a guy with an aero helmet on.
Then, have the BDAS up top, with Powered by Hops at the bottom.

He told me that would take a while, so he threw together that logo.

How soon are we going to order jerseys? I see no need to rush it. I can't see my kids swing seats, due to them being IN the snow!

I agree, as I don't really like the notion that the last square is over indulgence.

I hope they have kids sizes available for our jerseys. When my son rides his road bike we wear our matching tri tops from my club. It would be cool to have a bike jersey we could wear.

What he said! I'm looking forward to getting there myself.

And jayforster - Congrats on getting the new wheels home! Get that bike indoors and wiped down of all the salt and sand out there haha.

On the logo - plus 1 more on the notion of being more beer connoisseurs and less farting drunks. But love where we're going with these! And agree we shouldn't need them too soon, what with being snowed in with more on the way and all...

Dave - I checked out that Owayo site, looks pretty cool. Where are they located? Their spellings are Euro/Canadian, as are their representations of decimal numbers, which is why I ask. More curiosity I suppose it doesn't matter much where we order from. Price break at 20 looks decent!

I'm here! I'm here! I'm here!

Thought I had the week planned out, meals cooked and ready for the crock pot and everything but things just aren't working out. I need a little more flexibility in my daily schedule and I really am having trouble finding it this week. Let's see, three nights out of the week I leave at 6:15 am...no later or I am in traffic for a half hour. Classes end at 8:30 and I get home at 9:30 pm. Not a lot of wiggle room in that schedule if anything goes not as planned. This week three sick daughters, granted they are adults but they come home when they are sick. Lunch hour has been spent on homework this week. Last weekend I spent getting things done so I could have a great week of training. Nope, nothing, nada, zilch! I have yoga tonight which I could forego for a run but no I rather get my sweat on and do yoga.

Ok I am done whining...I will just take my CLP now...except I may enjoy it since I have been not stop this week!

This is bad...please pour WARM coors in dirty ashtray and drink...wait a minute, that makes it taste better!

Gotta roll with the punches! Just remember to take some time for just you whether it be yoga or drinking coors light...

Killer logo! A serious contender! It might be funny if in the last frame he's pasted out dreaming of "Kona"!

Hey Captain Challenge - here's the 411 on the challenges for the week and the month

Week - Work out 6 times. 5 swim bike run and 1 injury prevention workout (yoga, PT etc)

Month - Weight loss challenge. How many pounds can you lose in Feb. How many can the BDAS lose. Here's the link to sign up: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1m6rQBwNp0EbJAVfcaEzHf4eVtzdE...

Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow. Remember to put down the can of Molson before you step on the scale...

Missed a workout today. Was going to get it done this morning but had to finish up a lesson plan. Then I was supposed to do it when I got home from work but my meetinging with a parent ran long. Could have made it happen but I flaked. CLP.... Grr!

Need to make it my mission to find a way of working out every morning - not just on gym days... Hard when it's so cold. For those of you who remember DH - he would be ashamed.

Glorious run in 45* and sunshine! It was supposed to be rainy and I was planning on hitting the treadmill this evening, but I had a break in my day and took advantage of it. No jacket, no wool hat or face mask... I forgot how fun running can be!

ok guys this is my worst stent ever. the surgery has left me unmotivated. i still cant swim, bike or run (or lift) I can and have been drinking beer. I can at least shower as of today so I am planning to walk 2 laps at the lake (prob jog the uphills) tomorrow. I promise to do better with the group going forward.

I like the ideas for shirts so far but +1 on the 4th square, but I like the kona idea.

On a positive note my Belgian IIPA turned out good and the Bourbon Barrel aged BIIPA was great. (same batch split in 2) . Apparently according to my wife i promised my anesthesiologist one of each since he is a home brewer.

Scott - feeling for you man. Being down for recovery whether it be surgery or injury, sucks. One thing I noticed last year with the stress fracture is the actual depression it can cause. Workouts release endorphins. You start to get hooked on it and then all of a sudden you stop and don't have that endorphin release any more. Wish I could tell you what to do for that but just know its not easy for anyone. Hang in there man.

Dave - the week ain't over there's still time to hit 6 for the week. Don't let the CLP slow you down!

For me I got my first two in tonight for this week's challenge (2/6). 27 minute (3mi) run followed by 15 minute bike. Kind of the wrong order for tri but for a duathlon it's right at home

Just a quick check-in: Biking and swimming are my main activities for the next few weeks. As much as I want to run I need to re-hab this pesky plantiar fasciitis so I can really get back to running. On Sunday I went to a cardio-kickboxing class at the gym, figuring it would be fairly low impact and a fun way to keep moving. Unfortunately it aggravated my heel so I guess that's off the books as well.

Good to see all the activity here, I'm just trying to keep up with everyone!

I've been dealing with some mild plantar fasciitis and the best thing I've found is something called a Strassburg Sock. http://thesock.com/

I'll wear it at night or any time I'm going to be sitting for an extended time. It makes a huge difference in the amount of first step pain I was having. Before I started using it, getting out of bed in the morning was brutal.
