I wanted to get one of these for my back window of my truck and my wife said no that it's cheesy and tacky. What do y'all think? I thought it was cool

This is the spare tire of my Jeep.

LIKE!!!!

I'm planning out races for this year, so I may have a 5150 on there before the end of the year. If I ever go further then that, you know the stickers will be on there. I may never get a tattoo, but I sure will put stickers on my spare tire cover.

That's pretty awesome!  What's a 5150?

Oly distance, 1500 swim, 40K bike, 10K run. Or at least that is my understanding of it. I could be way off Smile

OK, I had to go check. 5150

OK, TW and I took a couple of days off from work. Today we went to Tree-Umph. It was awesome, a ropes course/zipline through the trees. What a blast!

Janyne, had I of known how much fun it was, I would have suggested it to you instead of Busch Gardens while you were here. It is right down the road from  the Gator Half.

And yes, there were pics taken.

Oooooh, those are highly entertaining! You got some good pics, too. I've taken 5/6th graders on courses like that and tons of fun! Can't wait till my own kids are older Although, I suppose nothing but time and planning stopping me from doing it with DH now. lol

You should get a medal for that. The pic of our faces was taken at 30 feet off the ground. She went higher then that on one course.  I was taking pics with her phone. That's my story and I'm sticking to it Wink

Its been a somewhat unpleasant day today...I woke up, planning on doing a bike ride to/from school---going from a spot slightly farther than what I am used to--15+ miles one way rather than 12+ usual. Of course had a little bit of stomach issue in the AM, but figured it was a one time issue and went on my way. Halfway in the ride, I felt a bit off, but my mind overruled the off-ness, and I continued. By the time I got to school, I felt good again...and hungry. I grabbed a smoothie and made it to my first two classes. by the end of the 2nd class, I had a VERY hungry stomach and grabbed some food. Within 15 minutes of eating, I wished I hadn't... by class #3, I was making repeated trips to the bathroom and fighting through hot flashes. I made it through 15 minutes of class #3 and gave up. Sadly, I had another 15 mile ride to deal with! I muscled through it, and tried (succeeded) mind over matter and made it home...I decided that dehydration was a minor factor right now, so grabbed a Nuun tablet and am sipping it while dozing and watching tv...I am feeling mostly normal now (dare I say, hungry again?), but I think I will stick to re-hydrating for now and stay away from food for the night.

Sorry to over share, but I was curious of how others deal with (possible) food borne belly issues--luckily only lower end, but still icky. I also wanted to share that I did still do my full bike--but I think that the decision there may have been just stubborn stupidity. Undecided

Way to go!  I would rest, maybe something light or some dry crackers you'll be fine in the morning.

You're asking the Manatees if you should do something that might be considered cheesee and tackee? I'd say that's a plus for us

DOOOO EEEEET

Lol, I guess I'm asking if y'all have 70.3 or 140.6 sticker on your vehicles. My wife says that I'm showing off (look at me...) I tried to explain to her I'm not trying to show off it's displaying the lifestyle that I have chosen.

I had a 13.1 magnet on my car.  Then I added the 70.3 magnet.  Then I replaced the 13.1 with a 26.2 and replaced the 70.3 with a 140.6.  Then I started to buy myself necklaces for races completed (Jonathan, you may want to skip this last step.)

Ladies, the necklaces are inexpensive but fun.  I have two from Lift Your Sole (http://www.liftyoursole.com/, 26.2 and similar charm one that I made up after Vineman last year) and one from  Endorphin Warrior (140.6).  After Myrtle Beach, I got myself the run charm that I got for my Secret Santa.  Just fun stuff.

This is a store we went in to the last time we were in Moab. They have all kinds of tri art/jewelry/ornaments as well as stuff for each of the individual disciplines. Earth Studio Moab

ETA: apparently they are moving to THIS SITE

I have bookmarked the site because my group of girlfriends always buy each other a token gift at Christmas - we are all triathletes so this is perfect!

DH just got a Cobb V-flow Max. After his race this weekend we're going to put it on my bike since I'd like to try it out too.

I use a Cobb Plus and I love it!  Do they still have the 180 day return policy?

Ok going to the LBS again at the weekend see if I can't borrow a couple of saddles.

jobaxas - 2013-04-10 3:01 PM Dumb girl I went and swam on my own at a different pool and I realised the reason was I didn't want to bump into FB chick at squad. This morning Andrew put up his new personal training page on Facebook and I have hesitated to hit like coz I know she sees my likes (is that how it works?)Dammit. I have to confront the issue - I don't do confrontation

You want I should do it for you?  I have a lot of pent up frustration at my boss that I could take out on her for you...

Or, we could be sneaky about it... I could start posting comments on your wall about how wonderful this Andrew guy / coach sounds... about how awesome it is that he is working with you, about how much your cycling is improving since you started working with Andrew.  I'll just keep gushing about him... LOL

Checking Jo's wall...

Muskrat didn't need to do it - my neighbour and friend Tara posted straight away (she knows nothing about the situation) and sent it to her sister they want to use Andrew as a personal trainer too....he does a money back guarantee if after 120 days you haven't noticed significant improvments...

A friend from the Macca site had his first PT with Andrew yesterday, he said it was great.

I was on the trainer today, and noticed that my front chainring is bent or something.  It moves back and forth.  I'll have to take it to the LBS to check out.

I also need to figure out why my Cateye is not sending RPM data to the head unit.  Can't figure that one out.  I even replaced the battery.  I'll need the LBS to help me with that as well.  I think knowing the RPM data will make a huge difference for me.

I can tell you what I would recommend if you were a dog...Fluids only for 24 hours.  Give your gut a chance to settle down.  Then start with bland foods, rice, crackers, some boiled chicken.  And stay close to home....  Sorry you are dealing with it, but great job on the ride!!

Funny noticed mine isn't sending cadence - must be that road riding, interfering with my technology!

At the request of Janyne, I've decided to get around to posting some bike pics for the manatee bike album now that the weather is nicer and I can take them to pretty or interesting places for their photo shoots.   Here is my good ol' roadie, all dolled up with fresh tangerine-colored bar tape, parked in front of a very old church in my area.

I'll take Rico out next time I ride for his photo shoot!

i love Rico's orange tape!!!

Nope, sorry, this isn't Rico, this is my nameless road bike.  You will have to wait until next week to see my Latin lover.  Feel free to suggest names for my poor roadie!

Tango? Dark, with a little flair and flash of those tangerine bars. Hopefully you love the way he moves, and he's as good a ride as his cousin Rico.

I like that! I actually did have a bike named Stealth Tango ... my first one. The steel-frame with downtube shifters (only 3 gears worked) that was 6cm too big for me so I had cruiser bars put on it so I could reach them

The steel-frame with downtube shifters (only 3 gears worked) that was 6cm too big for me so I had cruiser bars put on it so I could reach them

ooooh, Stealth Tango... a good name for a first. Did he sweep you off your feet and make you lose your breath? Laughing

Not once--he stayed firmly between my legs at all times --but the dance was like none other. Not then, not since. Maybe just because he was my first

Undecided

That's a brave ride home. Glad you made it and hope you wake up feeling better

Awww, poor pookie! Gentle healing {MELON PRESS}

I took a sick day yesterday as well -- Mutti and I both had fevers and weakness and she's coughing and snotty. She's a little better today, I'm much better--so I'm actually going to keep on NOT doing anything! That's gotta be a first.

I have a swim question that I'm trying to formulate...forgive me if it takes a couple of tries to narrow it down and get it "right".

I'm slow. For now. And I'm ok with that. I'm really trying to work on my form first, then endurance, and I figure speed will start to improve as I get more time in the water (at this point pool time is limited by daycare and kids' school/nap schedule). Am I wrong in assuming this?

But as I do ponder the idea of speeding up some day, one thing I am definitely noticing is that my turnover rate is slow as I'm thinking about where all my body parts should be. But another reason (I think) it's slow is that I'm comfortably breathing every 4 strokes (b-L-R-L-b), and it's the length of time it takes to exhale fully in water to get a good breath again. So to speed up stroke means my breathing is thrown off....lungs not empty/not full breath, etc. (I hope this is making sense Surprised)

Do I not even worry about this now? Anyone else have this issue in the beginning? Is bilateral breathing something I should start playing with?

(hahahaha! I just re-read these paragraphs and found it giggle-worthy to know that 6 months ago none of this would have crossed my mind...let alone be written down for a Pod to see.)
